Now we know the system and formation I thought it would be Intresting to see how many players we definitely need to sign based on the current squad and cover. I have based this on the players who haven't featured so far, so Daka, Soumare, Souttar, kristiasen, and castagne either getting moves or simply not being part of Enzos plans.

GK: Mads

Backup: Stolarczyk

3 CBs:

Doyle

Jannik

Wout

Backup:

Coady (will play when fit)

Justin

Hamza

Thomas

Inverted full back/extra midfielder:

Ricardo

Back up:

Justin

Hamza (used him at Burton here I think)

Deeper midfielder: Winks

Cover:

Hamza

Ndidi

Dual 8s:

KDH

Ndidi

Cover:

Praet

Casidei

RW: wanya

Cover:

albrighton

Mcateer

LW: Mavididi

Cover:

albrighton

Mcateer

Striker: kel

Backup: vardy

In my opinion Goalie, inverted full back, the two 8s and the strikers are nicely balanced and don't need reinforcements.

Clearly the panic area and biggest problem is on the wings. We 100 percent need a starting right winger as an urgent priority and probably a versitile winger to offer cover to both wings and win matches from the bench would probably be 2nd highest priority depending how highly he rates wanya and Mcateer.

We could definitely do with another CB but with coady fit we have 4 ridiculous good cbs for this level and Justin and hamza able to provide cover too its not a huge priority probably 2nd or 3rd priority. The Harry Winks position is a worry because Winks is so integral to our style and we have no direct replacement but I imagine it's difficult to find a player with his qualities who's happy to bench warm in the championship and your not gonna rotate Winks unless he's injured or close to burnout. So this one might have to be a square peg in a round hole situation with hamza, ndidi, KDH or casadei covering.

In my opinion We could just about make do with one winger as the only incoming but leaves us dangerously exposed in a couple of positions so realistically the bare minimum is 2 wingers and CB with another midfielder to cover the deep position as a nice luxury to have.

Said it at the start of the month when we were apparently hoping for five - three maximum. So that'd be another two from now. I'll stick with that prediction.

Striker worries me a bit. Any injury to Nacho or Vardy & we are in big trouble !

Am I right in saying the Kel will be going to AFCON in January ?

You are correct, Iheanacho features regularly for Nigeria, thus always called up. The club need to be looking at a striker to fill his place since he will be missing 5-6 league fixtures with AFCON in January - February.

Also, god forbid an injury and Vardy being a pit past it.

Daka is also going AFCON

So even if he stays we are still going to be down to just Vardy for over a month unless we sign someone early in January

Hopefully we sell Daka and get someone else

3/4 In

6 Out

Surely we can’t move that quickly with only a week and a half to go? That’s 1 a day 🤯

Imagine the 6 out could be the below:

Daka, Soumaré, Castagne, Souttar, Iversen, Thomas?

Is that a fairly confident prediction pal?

Not a prediction, just my own personal opinion.

I think loans for out goings will play a massive part.

I think we need attacking options. As much as that sounds crazy when we’ve won 4 from 4 but we’ve only won the league games by the odd goal. We need to be able to put teams away. I like Wanya Marcal and I hope he makes the step up but I don’t think he can be our RW option all season.

I would like at least another winger. Preferably two. If we keep hold of Daka then I don’t think we need a striker in. But if Daka goes we will need another striker too.

Other than that I think we’re very well set.

I feel we need more atacking threat, it probably doesnt suit he style of the manager.

I think Vardy is done bar the odd cameo performance, I dont think we can expect a great dela from him. Nacho is okay but it evident his appalling first touch can be a bit of an issue in the style we play. I feel maybe we could do with a slightly different option here.

An old skool striker is kind of out of the picture as we dont really play in a way that seems to utilise strikers in a traditonal sense.

Sadly, I foresee no more action on the transfer market this window, not even a loan.

I mean if this is the case the club can forget about promotion, this is a long hard season and we are looking a long way from being convincing. Small margins and we lose the opening 3 games.

I'd like to think we may see Will Alves incorporated into the 1st team over the next 2-3 months, so it may be that the club see him as a wide option as well.

I suspect we will see a couple of players coming in, in the wide areas.

AFCON is a concern for Jan/Feb, albeit, maybe the plan is to play Vardy and Mavididi up front for that period.  Clearly, there is a moment coming, where we have to fully replace Vardy and possibly Kel / Daka, i'm just not sure you make that purchase whilst you are in the championship... Are we really going to secure a PL quality striker at this level? It would just mean having to buy twice.

2 loans max. My guesses are a CB we've not been linked to yet and Rak Sakyi with no option to buy.

Daka, Soumare and Iversen to eventually go out on loans.

Won't make enough to loan the Turkish kid with an obligation so Gala will send him to France instead.

Castagne will still be here because we'll do the same thing with done with Soumaré and Praet, resist because of supposed low balling, quibble over a couple million and lose the whole lot.
