Would prefer dusting off Derek Dougan. If this Club sold Nacho and replaced him with Chris Wood, then Rudkin needs to be sectioned in an institution immediately.  This thread is on crack cocaine.

:D  I was trying so hard to be polite in my response lol

Hopefully Walshy can settle his differences with Steve Bull after his arrival on loan

Chris Wood suggestions? Nothing screams exciting new rebuild like selling your best striker to sign someone we deemed surplus to requirements nearly ten years ago.

Well we have the very much hit and miss Iheanacho with one year left on his deal and a potential offer with 48 hours of the window left and no striker links that I'm aware of.

The reality is that we're not that club anymore looking for a 20yo with huge potential to replace Vardy. I looked at the top goalscorers in last year's League One yesterday to see if there was a youngster with potential but it was full of journeymen mid 20's and older.

We could do a lot worse than Chris Wood this late on.

If it's Palace then we have to insist on JRS on loan and then use the rest of the money on a new 9

Chris Wood scored around 40 goals in 80 appearances for Leeds in his last two full seasons in the Championship. His last full Championship season was 27 goals in 44 appearances.

Newcastle signing him for 25 million was ridiculous. But before that at Burnley in his last 2.5 seasons he had 29 goals in 82 appearances - better than one in three.

Add that to the fact he can hold up the ball and is a bit of a target man it's not a terrible suggestion. He's been bad for Newcastle and Forest though (only 6 league goals in 44 appearances). It's underwhelming but if he could find his Leeds form when he was last playing in the Championship it might not be a bad loan.

Chris Wood?! We play with a false 9 not a target man. How is Chris Wood going to suit Enzo ball?

We need to be strong and hold on to Kels. He’s not scored this season I grant you. But he is the perfect striker for us. If we keep him, we go up. If we don’t, we don’t.

My preference would be to sell Nacho for £350,000 and see if we can convince Steve Claridge or Tony Cottee to come out of retirement.

Why do we always get childish comments? It’s really tiring when you are trying to find the facts in a thread! Maybe I’m old and this is hilarious to some?

Realistically Iheanacho’s sale will only be defined by who we bring in to replace him. If we bring in someone who fits the mould and scores goals, it’s a good sale as he has 1 year left. If we replace him with someone who performs worse, it’s a failure. Should he go, does Rudkin have in the locker. I’m not sure.

See there's your problem mate. You're basically looking for a black cat in a coal cellar. Of course it's going to be tiring....

Was just following on from people making ridiculous comments about selling Kel and getting Chris Wood in. Presumed it could only be children making those suggestions.

...really sad that we are missing out on Rak-Sakyi, I wonder if we could push the boat out to hijack a potential deal for Orban!!!

Chris wood is definitely not the answer if Iheanacho goes. It's got to be someone who can look after the ball better than Iheanacho and Chris Wood is not that man.

Yeah and that's why selling your first choice striker this late on is a bad idea

Cottee has just signed for a club in Malaysia of all places!

Well in the first half last night ‘Enzo ball’ (Christ are we really calling it that??) was screaming out for some height in the box at the end of Albrighton’s crosses

Albrighton won't be seeing any action outside of the cup competitions. He's way down the pecking order now.

I don't think anyone on here wants to see the back of Iheanacho but it's not just about football, he's a player who has one year left on his deal who has two PL clubs interested and a £15m bid likely incoming.

It's far more often than not a good strategy to sell any player at the peak of his value and we'll never get a better offer than we will in the next 48 hours for Iheanacho. There's also the likelihood he'll want to go and the danger of some players play on autopilot when they're running down a contract to protect themselves for a future move.
