These accidental handball penalties are killing the game. Especially in Europe. UEFA instruct their refs to give all of them. It is nothing short of scandalous. The punishment is way out of proportion for the supposed ‘crime’. Time for everyone in authority to have a rethink on this one. Sooner rather than later.

If they don't fix the offside and handball rules and make them like they were in the 90s football is done. A lot of fans are fed up, they'll just stop following the sport. As fans we don't mind mistakes but this whole thing now is fully corrupted and we know it.

Baring in mind Newcastle should have been about 5-1 down if PSG could actually finish, a draw is probably the least PSG deserve.

 

Cruel way to go about it though as there is no way that's a Penalty.

Penalties for any handball unless it denies a clear goalscoring opportunity is a ridiculous reward for the offence. 

 

I'm not surprised it's given, seen some similarly terrible handball shouts in European competitions, sick of 'top' level football.

Professional football is corrupt. VAR was brought in to help the “elite clubs”. The football public need to wake up and say it for what it is.

The handball law is a joke. What was wrong with the old deliberate rule? Football is a mess.

Even if it isn't a deliberate ploy to aid the rich teams, daft interpretations like that of the handball rule do benefit them purely on the basis better teams are more likely to find themselves in the box more often. More opportunity for the ball to graze somebody's fingernail so they can have a circle jerk over whether it should be a penalty or not.

 

I fail to believe so many officials are this incompetent. I believe they're incompetent, but this? Nah. Somebody powerful wants it to be like this.
