Well, others have commented on other good games he’s had so it’s more than just one. But either way, you’re still entitled to your opinion

Vestergaard being handy in the Championship is a very simplified, very reductive point of view for thinking this guy would be any good if we went up. He has no quantifiable strengths. What does he do? My overriding memory of him is slowly disappearing out of shot on tv as he chases the opposition attacking us, like he’s a plodder in the grand national.

...let's face it, we do not play in a way that negates his limitations, without pace around him to back him up he is a liability!!!

Played wonderfully against Man. City, in a "low block" in the Premier League, with us camped on our 18-yard box, not much space for players to give him a footrace. This season we play with our backline in the opponent half of the pitch, we are aware of the matchup in isolating Vestergaard with a quick forward, but we have so far prevented that scenario from happening so far too many times this season, with promotion, we cannot be so open.

Will we drop and play on the counter should we go up, it will be a big change to implement considering we would have spent a whole season playing a certain way. Coady is much the same, pace is not his friend, the back four will have a big change next season, is Maresca brave enough to keep them all together irrespective of what is clearly obvious to all.

could it not just be that Rodgers was a disaster if a manager the last couple of years and that Rodgers was the rot that set in?

Not just him. He was the biggest reason it happened, but some like Soumare weren't even trying. Watched him and Youri casually jog back as teams attacked us again and again. Rodgers should have dropped both instead of allowing it though you're right.

I’d never absolve the players from blame completely, but if my boss was a boblet, I’d down tools too. We have to remember that this is just a job to most players. They have no emotional attachment to the City of Leicester whatsoever.

Soumare Is good, very good. Pre season I remember reading so many comments from members here saying how Ndidi was finished, an absolute liability. Or how Nacho wasn’t the man for this league. Etc etc. I think, on balance, it’s perhaps true that some here are not the best judges of a player. Soumare will go on to have a very good career, just not with us I imagine.

Even if he has a stela season there, I still don’t want him back next season.

Sometimes players just don’t connect with a club and that’s what I think happened with Soumare. I don’t see that lack of chemistry changing if he comes back, even under Enzo, who demands so much more from players.

Bonus if we can get more money for him though.

Yeh, but we knew Youri had only one gear... IF & When he faced up, great player.. anything in his own goal direction, confused the traffic lights around Saffron-lane

You may be right, and he may be a kind of Paul Pogba - great playing in the right team, underwhelming otherwise. We are just not the right team to accommodate such a player. Other teams may be.

Ndidi was probably finished as a defensive midfielder. Great management has turned him into a new attacking player. When in potential financial trouble, it’s also easy to see why people would have took money for Nacho when out of contract next summer and going to AFCON for a few weeks.

With Soumare, he put no effort into most of his matches and didn’t want to be here. He was very easy to judge on his time here. I don’t care if he plays well for someone else. Still want him out of our club.

I'm surprised Sevilla were so impressed with his performance against Arsenal. Looked like he had the same defensive lapses he had here, poor positional sense, letting players run past him without tracking back. I'm hoping they dont change their minds as they see more of him.

We need to move on, people are obsessed with keeping players and then moaning when we are skint.

We have and have had players that lingered like Praet, Mendy, Amartey and Soumare,  they have the odd run of good games and people can't let them go.

Soumare has been underwhelming for two seasons and has played 59 times so he's had a chance.

We kept Amartey for 8 seasons, Mendy for 7 and Praet for 4 seasons when they clearly weren't good enough.

Just move him on.
