moore_94 Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 http://sportwitness.co.uk/club-increased-contacts-sign-leicester-city-star-player-favouring-exit-time-running/ Club have ‘increased contacts’ to sign Leicester City star – Player ‘favouring’ exit, time running out With less than 48 hours left in the transfer window in Turkey, which closes on Friday, clubs such as Fenerbahçe are stepping up a gear to bring late reinforcements, like Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi. The latest on that particular situation comes from Gazete Vatan, who have an article dedicated to the Süper Lig side’s efforts to sign the Nigeria international. It’s explained the Leicester player, who has started five out of seven games under Enzo Maresca this season, is now on Fenerbahçe’s radar, as they want to ‘make a definitive reinforcement’ of a new number six, meaning defensive midfielder, in their squad. In fact, they have ‘increased their contacts’ to try and sign the 26-year-old from the King Power Stadium, and it’s added that Ndidi himself is ‘favouring’ the idea of a transfer away. That being said, Leicester ‘want to obtain transfer income’ from a possible sale, knowing full well this could be their last chance to cash in since the midfielder’s current contract expires next summer.
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 14 September 2023 Popular Post Posted 14 September 2023 We're pretty obviously not selling Wilf to Turkey are we. I can see us cashing in for a few mil in January if Braybrooke and Alves are up to speed, Praet is fully fit and either of McAteer or Marcal have shown competence in the middle but now? There's an extreme likelihood he's in the squad on Friday. 6

Without the option to bring a replacement in, and Praet out injured for a while it would surely have to be very financially beneficial for us to consider it. £15m+ given his contract situation? Another consideration is whether now we’ve got an abundance of wingers, Mcateer and Wanya might be considered for the advanced 8 positions, meaning Wilf could be allowed to leave
Gerard Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 Just had a look at their record transfers, biggest transfer fee ever was this season and €15m for 26yo Under. They've also spent the biggest in their history this summer with three more buys at just under the €10m mark. Don't rule this out, Ndidi is within their spending trend. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fenerbahce-istanbul/transferrekorde/verein/36
BKLFox Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 haa Ndidi isn't going to Turkey even if he runs his contract down, linked to Premier lge clubs & Bayern Munich over the summer

Gamble92 Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 I'm convinced clubs are going off Football Manager for their scouting
turlo Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 Since when did Turkish clubs pay a decent fee for our players? The cheeky fkers normally want us to pay them

Just pointing out that they're not averse to splashing out this season, if €10m-€15m is the price for Ndidi they're not averse to paying it looking at this season's purchases. # Player Age Nat. CloudFox Posted 14 September 2023 Posted 14 September 2023 This transfer window has been a bit of an outlier for Turkish clubs. Suddenly they seem keen to splash the cash!

I would imagine we will be bringing in another No.8 in January, the fact McAtee was at the training ground shows our indication to bring in another.
brookfox Posted 26 September 2023 Posted 26 September 2023 Having stormed it vs Bristol he’s now being eyed up as a free transfer by Barca (according to a probably sketchy source). Stranger things have happened… https://barcanewsnetwork.com/barcelona-eyeing-26-year-old-leicester-city-midfielder-to-sign-as-a-free-agent/ 2
Ric Flair Posted 26 September 2023 Posted 26 September 2023 It will be interesting to see what happens to Ndidi's form in 2024. He's going to miss a chunk of the season with AFCON in Jan and Feb and depending on just how well he'll have done up until then, will set the scene for interest in him come the summer. I really hope his form and his motivation at Leicester don't tail off, as we've been victims of this last season for its entirety with players soon to be out of contract. We need to get over the line this season and get straight back up. I'd expect some business in January if we are in a good position, we cannot ease up. 2

Sly Posted 27 September 2023 Posted 27 September 2023 I’m surprised Chelsea haven’t bid for him to be honest.
sm1 Posted 27 September 2023 Posted 27 September 2023 I don't think this is as far fetched as some people think. Barca signed Oriel Romeu this summer. Whatever you think of Ndidi, he's miles better then him. 1
