10 League Games in - How Would you Rate the Season?

10 games in is a good amount of time to do some decent analysis of the team, so what do you think of our start so far?

 

I think it's 10/10, I really do. Expecting us to win EVERY league game after relegation and the amount of player turnover we had would be unheard of.

 

In just 10 league games, Enzo Maresca has:

 

• Got us top of the league with the joint best start made by any club.
• We have scored the joint most goals
• We have the best defence, just months after being relegated with a terrible defence.
• Introduced a new style of play that can beat man-to-man marking, high presses, deep blocks and anything in between.
• Has reinvented some players in insane ways (Ndidi, Vestergaard)
• Managed his squad fantastically, no injuries for Ndidi, Ricardo or Justin.
• Has brought multiple exciting new players to the club who are a joy to watch.
• Had our lowest average age for a starting team in 10 years.
• Gives great press conferences
• Has restored pride to the club and city

 

I thought the first 10 games would be rough, we'd be better through games 10-20 and then start surging at the halfway point. This is absurdity. Fantastic appointment, and once again happy days to be a Leicester Fan!

Lost a game early on when we were finding our feet and we’ve lost to one of them best teams in the country. Otherwise, we have the best defende in the championship and now the joint highest scorers.

It's been an absolute revelation the football, the vibrancy of the team, the ruthless, relentlessness of the manager. I haven't enjoyed football like this since post lockdown. Such a contrast to the creeping slow car crash of last season.

Well we could be doing worse, but we also could be doing better. So on that basis, I'll give it a 5/10.

Yeah it's gotta be a 9. Even the most optimistic Leicester fan couldn't have expected any better. Some people will point to the value of our squad and the money we have but make no mistake Maresca has worked a minor miracle already taking on what the last part left behind

Glad we're doing well on the pitch. Off the pitch the club need to be doing absolutely everything necessary to ensure we win this league and be preparing to get back what we had.

9/10. Avoidable loss to Hull but otherwise can't fault it as we've clearly found our stride. Feels like we still have gears to go up but we're now beating teams comfortably after a few cagey early ones. The Hull loss could be seen as a blessing disguise as it reminded both the players and us not to start taking the wins for granted...

 

... Ah, who am I kidding? Already upset my Reading supporting mate tonight by mentioning the 106 being under threat. Quarter of the way there and it's not even Halloween yet.

I’m only judging our season by our pre-season debacle, therefore 2/10.

Was in Amsterdam for hull so that hasn’t registered so as far as I’m concerned we’ve won them all.

It’s bitter sweet for me. It has to be 9.5/10 for how we are playing/winning. But proof that we should have got rid of Rodgers sooner, as we are clearly a class above this league.

 

a long way to go, but maybe just maybe if we bounce back up this year, we can reestablish ourselves in the premier league immediately, and this season. Can be the reset we needed.

8.5/10. We've gotten better and better with every game since we beat Southampton. After Rodger's windscreen wiper football it's good to finally see us play a possession style that sees us capitalise when we make an opening.
