I was really critical of him earlier in the season, but I've posted in the Casadei thread a few times now, there are definitely positive signs. We are starting to see what he can do.

I'm very excited about Cannon looking decent - we need a successor - but I'm not about to go Flat Earth insane and suggest Vardy isn't a natural finisher.

 

That's ****ing ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. He worked on it from his mid-twenties? I suppose all the goals at the lower leagues counted for nothing.

After a few bad years on the recruitment front we seem to be back on track with the likes of Cannon, Winks, Mavididi and Yunus. Looks positive for next season in the Prem.

Also I've only ever said that about players we're blooding for other teams (I.e. Casadei & Doyle) as we have equal or better that are actually our players so unless we plan to keep them why bother.


I believe Enzo wanted to sign Doyle on a permanent deal, but a loan was easier to get over the line.
 

Justin was never going to be able to play week in week out - and wasn’t ready at the start of the season.

 

Showing we’re a club that’s patient and good at developing young players is essential for our progression.

 

We can’t afford the finished article - we have to smooth rough diamonds.

 

Loans can be a good gateway to permanent signings - they can also be very cost efficient where you might need a certain level of quality for now, but anticipate that higher quality will be needed down the line. 
 

But the main point - discarding players signed 6 months ago, just like that, is not how you run a successful football club.
