He was brilliant when he came on, brilliant assist aswell. Outstanding player, hopefully because he's getting consistent minutes with the first team he stays long term despite the fact we know clubs will be interested at some stage.

If a 16 year old makes that assist in the PL then it’s on a Sky Sports News loop for 72 hours

Agreed. Wait til that new youngster at Arsenal does it and they'll be fawning over it forever.

Sad thing is, I dont think the system will allow us to keep him if he continues on this trajectory. The pundits will ramp up the standard deserves to be at a big club until he ends up in the reserves somewhere going backwards.

Luke Thomas gets a lot of stick but he is the perfect full back for Monga and Mavididi. Especially, in the present system where the fullbacks don't bomb forward.

It's the same with Fatawu and Hamza on the other side. It reminds me of how Raneri set up his defence. I think this is why we look so secure at the back.

Having out and out wingers with like for like on the bench is brilliant and why Kasey was sold.

Its great for Monga's development to have a system where he can concentrate on attacking and pressing knowing he has Luke behind him sitting with the rest of the back 4.

Like all, I'm really excited to see what he produces.

Keep him coming off the bench to cause havoc, in weeks where we have 3 games start him in one of them.

Re-assess later in the season if he keeps developing - absolutely mega talent.

I won't be popular for saying this but the long-term goal from our perspective here is to maximise the transfer fee when he goes. We can't keep ****ing around with the finances. Get him on the right contract, avoid a release clause and play him the exact right amount to optimise his development. Ideally get back to the Premier League with 2-3 years still left on his contract. And aim to sell for a fee higher than that which Southampton received for Dibling.

Err they have agents , would laugh at this unless we offer him a mega contract, which I hope we do, but in our current state can we afford to? Then again can we afford not to

Word is that his contract next season is 40k+ which for a 17 y o away from the big six is probably unheard of

but he’ll be tempted away by a bigger sum and a bigger club by the time he’s 18.  If we don’t go up this season then will be tough to keep him next summer.

this next couple seasons is going to see dowman pushed to the fore and Lewis-skelley’s brother is 15 this season and better than his older sibling.  monga will want a piece of that exposure.
