False alarm boys, Nixon’s a fraud.

All i can say is thank God.

I just cannot see why the **** the club would want to sign a striker that is not an improvement on Tom Cannon especially for that amount of money.

Boro maybe 5th but they are a decent mid table championship club.

Not 1 of their players are worth over 10 Million not 1.

Pop goes another transfer lead. I hope this isn't the start as we mean to go on. I have a horrid feeling it'll be same as last Jan with Enzo

To be honest mate, you're classing random nothing links to players as us failing to move for someone we actually want.

Don't believe every dubious link thrown to us in a window and you won't be dissapointed.

Not 100 sold on this one. He's 26, averaged a goal every 3.3 games(there or there abouts) in his career.

Am I being too harsh here?

What relevance is his career goal per game average? What if he became a really good player at 24? It does happen!

Is he more reliable than Nixon?

He’s the main Boro journalist for the local paper so well connected…

However! A deal such as this (player liked locally for what looks a lowish fee from their point of view) probably hasn’t gone through too many people at that end.

It's taken him a while to really hit his straps in his career but he's clearly found a home in English football.

He didn't have the best start to this season after a stellar campaign last year, but he's got back to business and when Middlesbrough do well so does he, it seems.

We're not fishing in the market of finished products. There's going to be an element of risk with every signing. We need a proper back-up to Vardy now. Daka and Edouard aren't it, so I'm happy to take the risk on someone who's currently in good form.

I'm confident he's better than Cannon right now. The two of them will be decent options next season if we go down, but if we stay up we may need to strengthen again in that area.
