are they ready for that? Begovic as a back up to a first choice Stolarczyk isn't terrible providing the wages are reasonable

It isn't terrible but we have a couple of highly rated youth and the only way they are going to get exposure is to be in and around the squad.

I'm not fully against a new senior keeper as back up but can't imagine they come cheap

Don’t know if any of our young keepers are that highly rated, and if Bausor is, he will need minimum a loan spell somewhere lower down the pyramid, being a keeper is very different to an outfield player and it does take more of a transition

I know that outrage posts are in vogue on this site but he would be an entirely sensible signing on a 1 year deal; cheap on wages and vastly experienced backup to our main keeper.

You're assuming he will be on low wages AND it will only be a year contract... What is it about our business in the last 5/6 years that leads you to believe that will be the case?

This is the first thing that makes sense to me from the club in ages.  We sell Mads, Jacob is number 1 and plays every game and this guy sits the bench similar to Schwarzer.  It makes us profit, gets rid of Ward and puts a young keeper as number 3 where Jacob was a year or so back

Absolutely nothing wrong with signing an experienced keeper, we’ve done it before, and far more established teams across Europe continue to do it too.

The real panic sets in when Dyche signs the golden trio, Begovic, Mee and Keane.

I dislike our transfer policy (if one exists) as much as anyone but this is more prudent than what we did with Ward all those years ago. To me this is just this version of Jakupovic which was a basically harmless move. Pearson liked a signing like this.

By all means absolutely don't sign any 38 year old outfielders.

This is also true however - you'd not put it past us to make this a 2 year £30k a week job lol

the best young Keeper needs to be out on loan

I remember saying Carson is the sort of GK we would go for. But he’s almost 2 years older than Asmir so if it’s a choice between the two of them then this guy has to be the better option…

Not a terrible filler. Experienced, cheap, good character which is what we need in the dressing room. I’d rather have him as a character for the young lads to look to over Coady…. Not against this at all.

Another player who was decent 10 years ago on presumably big wages. Fits the transfer policy.

As he was at QPR a couple of years ago I don't think wages are an issue

and his last 3 moves have been only 1 year contracts

Is he even good enough as a back up keeper? If your number one gets an injury I doubt you'd want to be stuck with him in goal for a few months.

Announce the transfer ban sharpish!

Some people are sick of our owner twaddling around not getting rid of Van Nistelrooy.

I'm sick of the EFL not giving us a transfer ban already!
