FoxinNotts Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 He's definitely worth more to us in our current situation, than he's worth to Palace. That's why we shouldn't sell, and we should be increasing what we a re asking for. 1

Eze is an attacking midfielder who excels at taking on players and creating/scoring goals, El Khannouss is a natural 8 who is better at passing and controlling the flow of a game. There are some short memories on here, El Khannouss is well respected amongst fans of other clubs in the PL, look at the reaction to his performance against Man City despite getting 0 goals 0 assists There will be shouts of best midfield in the league when he plays deeper alongside Wharton, it's just our idiot club that keeps on trying to force him into a more attacking role. Popular Post Bert Posted 20 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 20 August 2025 He will be really good in a few years. Still a bit raw, but what a talent. 7

Another really good point, well made. He's much much better as a number 8. Our club cannot see this 1

Wharton and Bilal as a double pivot is extremely lightweight and not particularly mobile.

Can't agree with that one mate. Look at how Palace line up. Bilal would fit in that slot next to Wharton nicely imo 1
DezFox Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 He will reach Eze levels, won’t have the same G/A as him but he is a very different player. If he plays alongside Wharton he will thrive. And his wingers and number 10s will have so much freedom. He is going to do really well at palace and their fans will love him. I hope it’s 30 or more, worry it won’t be. Be about 26 plus add ons and it will look like a bargain, need to put a sell in fee. 2

Personally, I think we should be playing 4-3-3 with the three being a number 6, holding, and two 8s either side, BEK being one of them. As 10s we currently have Alves, and apparently Monga has said he sees himself as a 10 🤷🏻♂️

I think they will go for the cheapest deal. But then again, We will probably let them pay for it over 100 year instalments. 3 journalists of esteemed level have mentioned it. I think it's very much on. 1

I don't think @Pliskin is denying that BEK is on Palace's shortlist but they're clearly doing the same thing WHU did, they want him cheaper than our initial demand and they're shopping around for other players and trying to do several deals at once. We caved on Hermansen because we could, we signed him for 5-7 so it was easy for us to make a good chunk of profit. Given we paid 20 odd for Bilal, we actually need a pretty solid fee from Palace otherwise it just isn't worth it to us and there's a limit how much we can budge. It's definitely possible that Palace do end up backing off and going abroad for someone cheaper. 4
tsintskaro Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 He is not "bad" objectively, but one of the best in the Leicester team, does not make him even close to Eze's level If I were a CP fan, I would be disappointed

This is probably an unpopular opinion but ayew at 10 I think that is his best position by far: New striker Mavs/ Monga. Ayew. Fatawu Winks/ page. BEK

Levi Port Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 Reports that they’re going for Dibling now over BEK, very different player but he would suit their system, it makes sense. Maybe and hopefully that has legs. Saints will want more for Dibling than were asking for Bilal though. Palace won’t want to spend 40 million of that 60. Although if we can sell for 30 million, it’s a good deal and if it does mean we can bring 2/3 in I’m beginning to naively believe it’s worth it.

Obviously they aren't going to sign a player on the same level? They're going to do the smart thing, go back to the start, sign another 20 year old on a lower fee, coach him up, let him go, probably sell him for 60+ one day too? That's... how it works? Who do you think they're going to sign? Musiala? Pedri? You buy a youngster, develop him, sell him, buy another youngster, develop him, sell him. That's how it works. If we hadn't forgotten that, we wouldn't be in the Championship. Somehow I think Palace, who have had raging success doing this over the last decade, know a little bit more than you do. 2
Ric Flair Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 I'd argue they already have a closer match to Eze in Romain Esse that they signed from Millwall but he's not yet at the same level yet. El Khannouss is a similar player in the sense he's creative from the centre of the pitch but Dibling is a completely different type of player. I suspect this is doing what West Ham did to us on Hermansen with these other supposed bids for goalkeepers. 1
Iwebema Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 Sky Sports reporting 32m deal agreed, but palace stalling. 32m would be good business I think. My worry as most on here have is that we arent going to reinvest it actively making ourselves weaker.
Lesta2014 Posted 20 August 2025 Posted 20 August 2025 Why would they stall after agreeing, wonder if they will come back and try get couple million off.
