It was always unlikely we’d keep him. Still find it difficult to accept that the likes of ****ing palace are taking our best players.

European football this season after winning the fa cup, was us 4 years ago. Just shows you how it can go wrong quickly.

A real talent. Another fan favourite leaving, not many left. Not many players left for young fans to be inspired by. If the club thinks we can challenge for promotion this season, they are deluded.

Good money for him in our position

Exactly my thought, has a high ceiling that i hope he achieves but he hasn't been immense for us. If we don't reinvest this money into 2-3 players its a joke though.

Sky Sports reporting 32m deal agreed, but palace stalling.

32m would be good business I think. My worry as most on here have is that we arent going to reinvest it actively making ourselves weaker.

In our position its v v v good business (and I’ll be delighted to admit I was wrong)

Does anyone know if there was a sell on clause when we bought him ?

£32m is a cracking deal for our level, similar to Barnes and Maddison prices on what he could be. Take it, keep Fatawu and spend 10 of it in a few loans and a permanent for a few mids and a striker, 10’s are far more common than a good striker or 6 imo

Sad to see him go.  If it means we can replace Soumare, Daka and Ayew it could be worth losing him.

I don’t have faith in them being replaced the same as I don’t have any faith in the manager changing them at the moment.

For someone with £15m left on his book value, to get 30+ is a decent return really after one season.

I just hope that they will bring a couple of players in with the money as we need to have the squad freshened up.

I'd take that money on the table. Massive potential, but only five goal contributions at that level last season.

The thing is Top will bank that money, choose not invest in the squad and we will continue to go backwards.

I hope we reinvest some of that fee into 3–4 players for Marti — let him bring in whoever he wants to fits his system. If we don't then we can forget about going up this season.

Genuinely abject to this, he's not been unreal for us, in fact quite patchy. I'd feel a lot differently if Abdul was to go for example. Are we gonna reinvest? Doubtful.

Just to be clear, don't get excited about any new players as A, we wont be getting ANY and B. if we do they will be shite.

We are in a relegation to league 1 battle this year, time to be realistic. Maybe that is what the club needs to have a proper clear out.
