Surprised by how many goals he scored for Birmingham in 23/24, 8 from midfield in an average team is decent.

We desperately lack goals from midfield so if he scores the same amount, combined with a few assists no doubt, it can only mean good things.

Decent interview with him has just gone up. Speaks well and answers feel thoughtful. Sounds genuinely pleased to be here.

Asked what kind of midfielder he is, he says ("in one word"): "Everything". lol

So not short of confidence either haha

...in an average team that finished 22nd and got relegated.

In a way makes it more impressive.

My mate who supports B’ham thinks he’s not all that. His best performance in a B’ham shirt was against us a couple of seasons ago hence why we’re getting excited. Said he wouldn’t have him back there 😯 Hope he’s wrong

Been on their forum and there are a couple of people like that but lots that thought it was a very good signing. One of their fans highlighted that some on their also like to dismiss former players and act like they were crap especially now they’re on the up. One blue nose I know from work thought and still thinks they’re going to walk the league, a sense of snobbery due to the new investment etc

The year they were relegated (23/24) he scored 8 goals (at 19) and they were doggo. Jay Stansfield as their main striker scored 14 yet we’re led to believe he’s the best thing since sliced bread. Think people revise things to suit.

He definitely has good potential and I like at such a young age he took the step to go abroad. The exact type of signing we should always be making and time will tell if he can progress.

Feels great to have signed a player that a lot of fans, myself included, have wanted for a long time.

I watch a lot of Wales’ games, and he’s had a lot of good games playing with and against a lot better players than this level. Genuinely exciting.

From what I've seen I think he's the one of the three that I'm most excited about. That first goal he scored against us two seasons back was great.

Also got a bit of young Kingy about him in that interview.

Perfect signing for us in terms of where we are at currently as a club. Feels like a return to the Pearson style of signings, with Drinkwater vibes. Young, hungry player, with a point to prove, and a motivation to secure a spot in the Wales squad. I'm really on-board with Cifuentes. Feels like a breath of fresh air, and gives me some encouragement that maybe the recruitment team aren't as bad as we imagine, just need some direction.

Just something about this guy feels like he was born to be a Leicester legend. I know we're not supposed to fall in love with a loan player, but is it OK when they are a 'loan with an obligation to buy' one? I know it's early to call this, but just asking for a friend 😂

As long as he doesn’t stink the place out (which I really don’t think he will), even if we don’t go up we should be all over making the deal permanent next summer for such a relatively low fee

Seen a lot of Rennais fans saying how good he was in a poor side last year, many commenting on how hard he works and that he never should have been sold.

By all accounts they’re a bit of a mess right now. I think he’ll be class here
