Him and Winks were both taking the piss towards the end of the game, just dancing around and through their players like they weren't there. I'm hoping we might actually look half decent if we get our good footballers into the team

Riccy cant play 90 each game. He has to come on when needed. Keep starting him and he will be out for 6 months.

Realistically at the point of getting that red card the goalposts shift considerably. It's not a good point out of context but also fighting back from a goal down away from home with 10 men is decent regardless of the relative position of the two teams.

 

Will have to be a lot lot better against Cov though.

we've looked better in every game before today when Daka has been up top. Ayew is just simply not a striker, not even at this level.

Ricky and Winks, what a difference they made!

 

If Ricky can do a full 90, he simply has to start games. Winks too.

 

It isn't going to work every game but at times in the second half we looked like the team with an extra man.

 

Coventry will be a very stern test, but if we're going to have a chance we need those two involved.

 

Hopefully Monga gets on the pitch as well.

yea, he scored. So did Ricardo for 2 in 2 and we're not calling for him to lead the line. Ayew is not a striker. He had an OK game up to the red card and then became entirely the wrong player to have on, because he can't lead a line or keep up with a break, and definitely should not have been kept on for the full 90, only to be subbed off for some stoppage time minutes for Bobby ****ing Reid. There's also more to leading a line than just scoring - has our attack looked coherent at any point with him leading it, absolutely not. Stick him at number 10, fine, but he cannot lead the line or knit an attack together, one goal does not change that.

Winks and Ricardo gave us the control and direction we needed after a dreadful first half. Skipp and Soumare have to be benched.

Just watched it, belatedly,  having maintained radio silence all day.  

 

Good away point.   

 

I don't care for the snobbery involved in thinking we have a divine right to beat Oxford. 

 

We are in the same league because we got relegated when we weren't good enough for the Prem. They are also in this league.

 

We need to pit ourselves against the teams in this league and people assuming we should easily beat all of them every weekend are probs going to have a bad time, sometimes.

 

First half was fairly poor, but I thought the red was harsh.  It should have been a yellow, but the crowd, the players and the guy tackled all went for the Oscar, as if Ramsey has snapped his leg off, and the ref, who was weak, bought it.

 

I thought Cifuentes made good changes and we were the more likely side to nick it second half.

 

They all put a shift in  , but I reckon Chowdhury, Vestergaard, Ayew, Fatawu (til he ran out of juice) and of course the subs all made a positive difference.

 

Even Skipp was ok second half.

As much as we are hampered by a double act of Skipp and Soumare in midfield, Okoli at the back is exactly the same.  Couldn't even make a straightforward forward pass this afternoon.  Terrible.

Shout out to Jordan Ayew who's hold up play and general physicality and running helped us out on numerous occasions.  Kudos for his goal.  (Don't understand the hate).

 

Vestergaard slows the play down too much.

 

Cifuentes deserves credit for the subs 2nd half and change of shape.

 

Ricky p and Winks have to start next game time for Skipp and Soumare to be rested.

 

Mavididi is not the player who played under Enzo.  Cutting his hair (like Samson)  has made him a crap footballer.

 

Great cameo by James not overly impressed with Ramsey.  Even before the red.

Agreed. We looked like a team, we fought. This felt for me like a step forward for Marti, regardless of the result.

As many have said winks and Ricky simply have to start, proven esp at this level and so much more composed and midfield contrail with those two. 
 

Hope we see the new striker vs cov as daka is really only good at running fast whilst on ice skates 

 

Like to see monga on 60 each game to mix up the wingers.

It seems most agree that Skipp and Soumare should be dropped Jones and Winks to start they could make a good combination Ricardo should play as a striker two goals in two games, Daka doesnt even get a shot on target sorry he's just a lost cause,

We done well to recover a point but a better start is whats needed instead of giving the opposition the impetus to keep going at us.

 

Dissapointed with the slow start again. Ayew played well and done brilliantly for the Goal. I seen him giving some of our team the verbals for the way they were playing and rightly so.

 

He will do a lot better in the 8 or 10 role with the new CF leading the line.

 

Skipp is such a poor player and offers us nothing. At least Soumare can play if he has a mind too. Hard to understand Marti's thinking eith him.

 

I'd move Ricardo into midfield with Winks were their class will tell, Then play James or Soumare with them.   Though I'd like to see Faes play defensive midfield.

 

He'll be aggressive in there but also will win a lot of Headers and can certainly play with the Ball at his feet.

 

Okoli done ok but was at fault for the Goal because of poor marking and not attacking the Ball in the Box. Vesty is solid enough apart from his lack of pace.

 

I think Mav is suffering from Fats performances and trying too hard. He just needs to settle into his own game and not always look to beat a man.

 

We done well to recover a point but a better start is whats needed instead of giving the opposition the impetus to keep going at us and us playing catch up.

 

It's early days yet but I expect performances to improve as the new signings bed into the Team.
