You have to take the moaning in context, ie the continuing free fall of this club.  Moaning is very much justified.  I'd say it's almost a duty.  There is zero accountability at the club so it is incumbent upon the fans.

You mention Stockport.  Yes, there was more muted moaning, but this was a game where we seemed as though we won despite our best efforts to throw it away.

In another post you mention individual 'brain farts' for the Stockport comeback.  Don't you realise that these are unforced errors caused by Martin's style of play.  In other words, pissing about with the ball at the back.  In the context of the previous games under Martin's tenure, Stockport was another example of the worrying direction he is taking us in.  Highly moanworthy

It genuinely baffles me that we can have 5 years of chronic mismanagement which continues to this day and you can be mystified that fans should moan about it.

i agree in regards the moaning in regards accountability at the certain higher ups, theyll never say anything sadly

tbh i wouldnt even say the stockport 2/3rd were on the style of play, more like McCarthy forgetting he has a right hand side of his goal and souttar being souttar atmlol

the 5 years of chronic mismanagement boos as you mentioned should be directed more at the board and the owner compared to RM imo(at this stage anyway)

*they warrant the stick for the gross mismanagement over the past 5+yrs

To be slightly fair, he came into a club consumed by failure and to be chanted against 13 months before an arrival cannot be pleasant.

However, you know what you are signing up for. Managing Leicester in the third tier is about winning. Big Nige did it. Losing 4-0 at home five games in takes away even more leeway. There is no universe wherever supporters would accept (beyond Facebook) a transitional season. The trade off for being here is winning and winning well.

Plus, he has had advantages recent others haven't. The ability to move bad eggs on, a full pre-season, the chance to sign many players, no imminent threat of points deductions. If you are 14th with a negative goal difference, people will get on your case. Time to show some backbone.

This is the type of person the one filming is:

Also remember him being complete dickhead towards the Father of one of my friends at Old Trafford a few years back too. The guy is a middle-aged bully.

Good on Martin for taking his nonsense and making him look a clown.

Doesn't mean I think Martin is the right man for us, mind.

Whilst he doubles down, chats a bit of tactical rubbish and continues his stubbornness towards the playing style, he handles the interaction on the whole really well. Same can't be said about the weasel filming him on the sly whilst peddling the narrative he's "putting himself out there" and fronting it up lol

Just for context, here are some more standout OPTA stats for the league season so far. Bear in mind, Burton and Plymouth have played 9 games, while nine other clubs have played 8 games. Leicester have played 7.

Attacking:
# Touches in box: 190 (ranked 8th) - 57 fewer than team ranked 1st (Stockport) and 82 more than team ranked 24th (Bromley)
# Hit post: 2 (ranked joint 11th) - 6 fewer than team ranked 1st (Stockport)

# Offsides: 8 (ranked joint 21st) - 23 fewer than team ranked 1st (Plymouth) and 2 more than team ranked 24th (Oxford U)
# Headed attempts: 14 (ranked joint 18th) - 32 fewer than team ranked 1st (Stockport) and 10 more than team ranked 24th (Oxford U)
# Headed goals: 1 (ranked joint 13th) - 6 fewer than team ranked 1st (Wycombe)
# Fast breaks: 2 (ranked 24th) - 1 fewer than team ranked 23rd (Luton) and 14 fewer than team ranked 1st (Huddersfield)

Goals vs xG: -0,89 (ranked 15th) - 7,35 fewer than team ranked 1st (Burton) and 6,52 more than team ranked 24th (P'boro)

In brief: We make few runs/passes in behind and we get roughly the amount of goals we should from the chances created. We keep it on the deck and we have a lot of touches in the penalty box. We are very ponderous in possession, sacrificing counter attacks completely.

Set Pieces (can't be bothered to go through all of it):

In brief: We've created 11 fewer shots than we've conceded from set pieces (1,90 xG for and 2,70 xG against) resulting in 1 goal scored and 1 conceded.
Indicates we're defending them reasonably well (ranked 2nd) while also being inefficient at the other end (ranked 23rd).

Defensive:

# Tackles: 89 (ranked 22nd) - 81 fewer than team ranked 1st (Burton)

Ground duels won: 52,5 % (ranked 3rd) - 4 % less than team ranked 1st (Stevenage)
# Interceptions: 36 (ranked 24th) - 13 fewer than the team ranked 23rd (Wigan) and 44 fewer than team ranked 1st (Burton)

# Recoveries: 323 (ranked 15th) - 70 more than team ranked last (Oxford U) and 119 fewer than team ranked 1st (Stockport)

# Blocks: 14 (ranked 24th) - 8 fewer than the team ranked 23rd (Stockport) and 36 fewer than team ranked 1st (MK Dons)
# Clearances: 159 (ranked 24th) - 30 fewer than the team ranked 23rd (Stockport) and 149 fewer than team ranked 1st (Wycombe)

Aerial duels won: 49,4 % (ranked 14th) - 8,8 % more than team ranked last (Notts) and 9,7% less than team ranked 1st (Stockport)
# Goals conceded from fast breaks: 4 (ranked joint 1st), although we've only conceded 9 fast breaks (joint 8th)

# Oppo hit post: 4 (joint 3rd) - 2 fewer than team ranked 1st (MK Dons & Cambridge)

Errors leading to shots: 9 (joint 1st) - 8 more than than team ranked 24th (Notts) but 0 errors leading to goals (

In brief: We are very vulnerable on the break and we make very few tackles or interceptions (probably explained by our very high possession rates), but are generally successful when we do make them. We are actually a bit fortunate that we haven't conceded more given the errors we've made at the back. We hardly make any clearances and we have been saved by the woodwork more than our fair share of times.

Passing:

Average Possesion: 68,0 % (ranked 1st) - this is 9,6 % more than the team ranked 2nd (Stockport)
Passes attempted: 4286 (ranked 2nd) - 269 fewer than the team ranked 1st (Stockport)

Pass completion: 87 % (ranked 1st) - 0,9 % higher than team ranked 2nd (Stockport)
% Forward passes: 31,7 % (ranked 23rd) - 0,2 % more than team ranked 24th (Stockport) and 24,5 % less than team ranked 1st (Bromley)

% Backward passes: 16,9 % (ranked 19th) - 1,2 % less than team ranked 24th (Notts) and 3,2 % more than team ranked 1st (L Orient)
# crosses attempted: 96 (ranked 15th) - 79 fewer than team ranked 1st (Bradford) and 28 more than team ranked 24th (Oxford U)

% Successful crosses: 20,8 % (ranked 13th) - 8 % less than team ranked 1st (Stockport) and 8,6 % more than team ranked 24th (Burton)

Through balls: 13 (ranked joint 3rd) - 4 fewer than team ranked 1st (Huddersfield) and 12 more than team ranked 24th (Cambridge)
10+ pass sequences: 107 (ranked 2nd) - 17 fewer than team ranked 1st (Stockport) and 99 (!) more than team ranked 24th (Bromley)
Direct speed (forward meters per second of a sequence): 1,61 (ranked 2nd) - 0,07 more than team ranked 1st (Stockport) and 0,5 less than team ranked 24th (Bromley)
Passes per sequence: 4,48 (ranked 1st) - 0,26 more than team ranked 2nd (Stockport) and 2,76 more than team ranked 24th (Bromley)
Average sequence time: 11,29 seconds (ranked 1st) - 0,14 more than team ranked 2nd (Stockport) and 7,29 (!) more than team ranked 24th (Bromley)

In brief: We make loads of sideways and backwards passes, we don't make many crosses and we are far more careful with the ball than all other teams. We do make a few through balls, but this may also simply be by virtue of the volume of passes (0,35% of passes).

Pressing:

# Pressing sequences: 71 (ranked 21st) - 58 fewer than team ranked 1st (Plymouth) and 12 more than team ranked 24th (Oxford U)

PPDA: 11,3 (ranked 7th) - 2,9 more than team ranked 1st (Oxford U) and 5,3 fewer than team ranked 24th (Wycombe)
High turnovers: 32 (ranked 23rd) - 41 fewer than team ranked 1st (Plymouth) and 2 more than team ranked 24th (Wigan)
% HT ending in shot: 31,25 % (ranked 1st) - 4,22 % more than team ranked 2nd (Sheff Wed) and 28,55 % more than team ranked 24th (Luton)

In brief: We don't engage in the high press very often, but when we do, we tend to be very efficient at creating a chance.

So basically Martin says the stats look good because the ones in his head that he made up on the spot do but if you look at the actual stats they are awful.

Next time he tries this we need whoever it is talking to him to be prepared with the actual figures to call him out on his constant Bull

Martin didn't need to engage with the fan and did. He didn't belittle him, he just said they would disagree and gave him his perspective based on the stats he sees. Sounds like RM just can't win in the eyes of some of the fans. If he doesn't say anything he's hiding, if he dodges questions he's got no spine, if he supports his opinion he's arrogant. Personally I like a manager that can back themselves when the critics are being loud.

Made up stats that are only real in Martins delusional world in his head though

Did a little research after seeing this earlier.

Plymouth’s (top of the league) last league game away to Orient

326 passes

17 shots

7 on target

Won 2-0

Away to Blackpool

328 passes

24 shots

9 on target

Won 4-2

So, basically, we’re passing it around double the amount as Plymouth, producing as many shots, but are 13 places below them

It ain’t Martins fault though- He’s employing the tactics he’s always employed and was employed by us to employ. Blame Aiyawatt

My head isn’t up anyone’s arse, just trying to say that this isn’t RM’s fault when it started years ago with mismanagement.

The thread is about RM not upper management and owners correct? Now, if it was about the owners then yes I would agree they need to be held accountable and that isn’t something that we’ve seen or heard. It’s shocking what’s happened to us over the past 5 years and something that shouldn’t have happened.

There were some of us calling it out just after the FA Cup winning season. It’s not difficult to see we were never this fairytale. Not at ownership level.

If you allow the owners to gain their own cult following from so many idiots then you’re always going to be ****ed.

"you've been shit since..."

I hate the word you. It should be we. He's part of this.

I think people are reading too much into this. He's referring to the past that he wasn't part of and he obviously sees, rightly or wrongly, that he's made it better.

I don't like his football but this is just being a little picky

He’s got to start somewhere to help us out of the mess. That work has started by getting rid of the “bad apples”. Let’s see where we’re at by the end of the January window and I hope we’ll be in a better place in the table. However that will only happen if the fans stop booing at every opportunity.

Ha ha.

You people are mentally unwell.

The type to catch their partner cheating and say it’s ok we can work through this, I’ll change.

I don't like Russell Martin. I don't like his football and I don't think he's a particularly capable manager.

But whoever this absolute wetwipe is, he's embarrassed himself, he's embarrassed the rest of us by proxy, he's handed Russell Martin the easiest argument victory of his life and worse than all that he's actually managed to make me like Martin about 1% more.

What a twat. Next time leave your phone in Exeter ffs.

Exactly how I feel as well.

Speaking like he is waiting for the sack TBH

Nah i disagree, hes dug in like an alabama tick! ..

And whats the guy going on about dont play the way the owners want?

Its his way, supported by the owners..

He is never going to change.

Hes happy with 100+ chances in a few games, whats that tell you. Hes going nowhere he is blinded by peps philosophy, and as not learned any lessons from his other club failures.
