Within 3 games of his tenture at Leicester you will hate him just as much! Mark my words

Don't worry, we are way ahead of schedule.

The way I look at it, the worse the pain, the quicker he f**** off.

Russell Martin has done nothing to merit the job at Leicester. He's not the man to grind out results to get you back up the leagues. Tbh he's the exact opposite of what the club needs at this moment. You would have been better with A pragmatic manager. Dyche or Sam Allerdice would have way better options

None of the managers this club have employed for the past 2 seasons have done anything to merit being at this club, most of them barely qualify as football managers at any level. Problem is the club is wedded to tippy tappy and Rudkin is a twat so we are pretty limited on who would come here. I suppose you could say the club have done nothing to warrant getting a better manager which is why we are where we are, we just have to hope we get a miracle or we die

I actually prefer him to Cifuentes and Rowett.

Van Nistelrooy was a major disappointment.

He’s got his work cut out though, as this squad lacks known quality.

Other clubs are blown away we’ve got Choudhury playing for us in League 1. We are so use to higher quality that we are just going have to grind this out and if he does this with this squad. Then full props to him.

The big advantage and disadvantage of Russell is his amount of experience and his experiences as a manager, will he have learned from it?

We’re gonna be the ones to find out

Not sure how you can judge him as we’ve not played a competitive game yet.
He’s arrogant despite achieving very little in the game.
I hope he does well but I’m less than convinced he will.

His record is better than Cifuentes. Who’s record to be quite frank, was very average before he arrived.

At least Martin has achieved promotion.

Despite the collective underwhelming vibe on here then I for one am hoping RM's time here is to prove a point and that he was judged too early at Southampton re second season (at a higher level) syndrome and obviously having then been thrown in at the deep end at Rangers in an unknown quantity (to him) capacity of the entire SPL set up/scene/expectation levels - plus with not the best tools at disposal either ay Ibrox - but the squad's uncertainty at present isn't likely to help going forward in the immediate tense re who's on board for now until next May and who's leaving before October, players wise! Especially with it all being underpinned by the fact that we're somehow back in League One after everything - and so at our equal lowest ebb in our history versus 2008-09 - albeit the next 10 years turned out more than ok after that last low ebb but history may not necessarily repeat!!

5 weeks until the first competitive game.

6 weeks until the first league game.

8 weeks until the window closes.

And we have what? Multiple first teamers who need to be sold because we can't afford them/they're crap/they're toxic/they want to leave/we need cashflow

And the squad is missing:

  • A decent goalkeeper
  • Defenders who can defend
  • Goal scoring midfielders
  • 2 centre forwards

How good RM is or not is largely irrelevant right now unless we actually do the business in the transfer window.

i also guess it depends what his mandate has been.

it MIGHT have been... there is no budget, we will sell what we can, but that money has to go towards operating costs.

YOUR job Mr Martin is to bring through to talent that we have in the squad.

That could mean that we have our strikers in BDCR, Hutchinson and Evans.

It might mean that Alves takes up a wingers spot.   That Braybrooke is the central midfielder alongside Page that need to create our chances.

If we are all expecting loads of incomings, then I fear we really don't understand the financial position we find ourselves in.

We will probably stick with Stolarchyk in Goal with an Academy keeper as 3rd choice.

I suspect we sell Souttar and probably Nelson or Okoli....  but whatever remains is likely to be alongside Vestegard, again, with strong academy products making the bench.... It's effectively the "league 1 loan" we always talk about them needing.

I really didnt want him here and was very disappointed in his appointment.

However, i am told that  he is very popular with the youngsters and all the non playing staff at the club.

I was also told that he put on an extra training session last week at the time of the england game due to standards not being met.

These show ponies have had it too good for too long.

I actually think he be ok. As long as he can get rid of the bad apples.

I’ve almost gone past the point of caring that I’m actually fine with him now

Out of interest - what sort of standards?

Honestly at this rate if he gets them playing as even a semi-cohesive unit I'll hold my hands up and give the guy the benefit of the doubt, even if the style of play is complete arse. Our squad is such a mess and that doesn't look like changing.
