I just don’t know the extent of our financial flexibility to make all the changes we want  to make .getting this guy in on a free is a total no brainer..  but we can’t force anyone to purchase Bobby, and he won’t just let us release him as he would rightly expect a financial settlement for the remainder of his contract. It might be a case of fitting some of them in and I wonder if aspects like someone’s ability to retain the ball and possession might play a part in how much they play as well. Ideally, Bobby would go, but having him in and around the first 11 would probably be more realistic than him sitting in the reserves running down his contract.

I’m quite relaxed about our financial flexibility tbf, as you see with many League 1 clubs, I think we can build a pretty decent squad by relying heavily on frees and loans, there’s plenty of possibilities out there, especially when it comes to defenders and midfielders.

In an ideal world, I hope Bristol City take BDCR back lol, think it would be an ideal move for him, but if not and with the usual case of having at least two players in every position, it’s going to be interesting to see how Martin views Alves and BDCR. If he views them both as wingers…

RW - BDCR, Silko

LW - Mavididi/New Signing, Alves

I’d be pretty concerned if they end up being our RW options.

Wasn't it mentioned we are in for Charlie Webster?

I think we both mentioned him as a possible signing Ric, but haven’t seen him actually linked to us as of yet.

He’d be a natural Jordan James replacement imo, and probably competition for Louis Page.

Martin has historically not really used/signed wingers. Rangers it looked like they had decided to but he lasted 2 months 😂

As I said to MPH earlier, it wouldn’t surprise me if he puts at least one striker or attacking midfielder in a wide position, bit like he did a number of times with Piroe and Armstrong.

At Southampton though, you did see more natural wingers utilised on the left, a mixture of Edozie, Fraser and Sulemana.

I still have a feeling that if Mavididi leaves, he’ll get replaced with Emilio Lawrence from Man City.

Hard to believe he’s still only 29. You’d think a Championship club would come in for him

He’s a rotation option for a lower midtable championship club already

Maybe ,but still 29 and still time to establish himself properly at Championship level.

Think there was a link somewhere to Webster. I have been well impressed with him the 4 or 5 times I saw him in the flesh.
