Had Everton received their points deduction in the correct season we'd have remained a Premier League club and none of this would have happened until the following year

Amended for you.

We're also destined to become the 5 largest City in England, true it'll be the same people going to games but we're seen as a parochial city just a bit bigger than a town.

5th biggest?

They will never let us compete with the "big boys" again.

If everyone starts suing eachother I can see the whole thing collapsing to be quite honest - and they won't be able to control it as closely. Just a thought, obvs not based on much

I don't think that it's applicable in this case. Burnley argued that had the points deduction that Everton received been applied in the same season of the rule infringement then it would have changed the outcome of the season. Had we gotten our points deduction in the same season we broke the rules, we still would have finished above Leeds.

I get what you’re saying, Leeds will use different equally founded evidence and will be presenting their case differently to Burnley.

And they do have a point, as do we.

it’s not as straight forward as many on here seem to think.

Whether there is or isn't is not the point. It's whether or not there is a buyer that ticks more boxes than KP and I think there is.

So one box then.

it’s literally the biggest miss management of a professional football club in history and that is not a low bar.

The following year we'd have been able to compete as a Premier League club and been in a far greater position to mitigate PSR issues with the extra income that brings.

Rather depressingly, it's not even close to being the biggest mismanagement of a club in England in the last thirty years or so.

But it is almost certainly the biggest mismanagement of a club the size of this, in the position we were in. In England anyway, I don't follow football in other places nearly well enough to know.

I hope Rudkin stays in his role after the club is sold.

:crylaugh:

Keep him in the club but put him in charge of polishing the unflushable turds in the men's bogs in SK2.

It still isn't sinking in with some that this has nothing to do with complaining, ungrateful supporters (who either forcing out the owners or kids who should be ignored) and is being driven by economics and a shambolic running of the place. There is no alternative when fortunes change and they ride to the rescue. It is done.

At this stage I don't think it ever will TBH.

I thought once the justification of "we were in League One once" was untenable we might see some attitudes change.

But no, they've doubled down on "be careful what you wish for". It's ****ing bizarre.

Top is still a billionaire despite his problems and he still can't really afford to own us.

I think it’s deeper than that. Ultimately we’re owned by King Power whose existence is looking increasingly concerning by the year. Top’s number one priority is King Power, we are the toy on the side that has a huge emotional attachment.

Top is not a billionaire in liquid cash, he’s a billionaire through estate and assets. With King Power’s performance struggling as much as it is, Top’s billionaire status is also impacted.

The last thing King Power can afford to do right now is pump money into a toy when there empire is falling down in front of them nor is the money there to do so. Remember Top’s comment of “I will try” when questioned about if he will put money into the club following relegation? Surely if the funds were readily available in his bank account that would have been a clear and direct yes. That told us what we needed to know on the current cash availability.

Clearing debt to equity always sounds “kind” in essence, however, anyone with any sort of business knowledge knows this is usually done in an attempt to make an asset more attractive to invest into.

I stated on here around a year or two ago that we was listening to offers in 2023, this came from someone very well involved with some of the higher ups from the club. Conversations were serious I am led to believe, however, when we started walking the league and promotion appeared inevitable Top moved the goal posts and started valuing us as a premier league club without the status which broke down all conversations.

Yet another awful piece of negotiating by the club with greed ruining all negotiations. That’s what worries me with any potential sale, hopefully, desperation is that apparent that the goal posts can no longer be moved.

Yeah, I’m not so convinced myself.

As I’ve said elsewhere the have several creadible points and their timing is fantastic as they can now say look how good Leicester City are when they play by the rules. They shouldn’t have been anywhere near the top six

I mean we do have good defence points as well but ultimately the Burnley case has set a precedent and that’s a precedent we’d need to break.

Its a completely different scenario and would open a can of worms, can we take Everton, Chelsea and Man City to court? I would certainly argue if Leeds had gone up that year it would have put them in a weaker position, they would have come straight back down whereas we might have gone up and stayed up last year when the league was a lot easier. The reason we were good that year is because we got lucky and found a good manager, last year we employed a useless idiot. We shouldn't be in the division, and ultimately the threat of PSR hanging over us hasn't helped. Ultimately we need to get away from silly court cases, some of that is competency in the board, the other is rivals being idiots.

You recon Top and co would have done that? And with players like Wout Faes?
