Birmingham and even Sunderland could be bought cheap. Neither were in great shape but they weren't us.

We're a League One club with Premier League financial burdens. You've got be extremely wealthy to buy us and manage the debt we've built from a whole bunch of angles.

Top is still a billionaire despite his problems and he still can't really afford to own us.

There's only two sorts of people that are going to be interested at the moment. Delusional and slightly out of touch people that think the world's still charmed by 5000/1 ten years on (it's not) or sharks smelling blood in the water.

Both terrify me.

Some sensible Benham or Bloom isn't going to come in with their brilliant sporting strategies and get us back to the Premier League through cunning and wisdom. Guys like that buy little clubs like Brentford or Brighton that are cheap, without burden and give them room to grow.

We're either getting another idiot or a cynical vampire looking to bleed whatever we've got left. I don't mean to be overtly negative but I just don't see much room for optimism here.

There is 2 ways to look at it really.

We are a league 1 club, that really shouldn't be in League 1 with any ounce of capable management.

A lot depends on the asking price but we have a reasonable stadium, good core fan base, large catchment area, good recent history (outside the top 6), a good academy, fantastic training facilities.

Anyone with a bit of business intelligence could look to maximise the commercial and retail aspects at the club that have been awfully managed by King Power since day one, the shop, ticket strategy, non matchday use of the facilities is so bad its untrue. This alongside some decent football management sees us at the top end of the Championship.

I don't really believe we are any worse than Sunderland or Birmingham who were a few years back, St Andrews was literally falling down in parts.

Top cant afford to own us because he has employed an idiot in the most important position at the club, that as A put us here and B continues to make it difficult to make the right decisions to turn it around.

There is still quite a lot of potential in Leicester, you can take a Bournemouth, Brentford etc to the Premier League but you don't have the fan base the heritage etc we do. Also really there are very few English football clubs that make full use of their commercial aspects.

Re St Andrews, it’s widely reported that they paid £2.5m to repair, our Maquary loans based on Premier League money that we won’t even earn 10% of will be around £120/£150 million. You really can’t compare the two.

The last part around sentiment/heritage, billionaires don’t usually become billionaires by acting on emotion. They will look at the cold hard facts, which in our case are that you need to spend the best part of £200m just to get us back level, which is the key difference between any of the clubs you mentioned and us.

Dont get me wrong, someone might do that and find a way to recoup that initial investment, but it’s how they would do that which has got to be a bit of a concern and something you would expect the foxes trust to be all over should a takeover happen.

Well you failed pretty spectacularly (even if justified in what you said) lol

Yeah, let's blame those people who actually tried to hold people accountable, rather than those who've sat there fueling the fire.

KP aren't selling because of the fans, they're selling because of their own incompetence. Important to understand that.

What do you think is going to improve once some Kuwaiti air conditioning salesman buys us? Even if he’s as rich as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos combined, we’re still hamstrung by the same financial regulations.

I would imagine that Tops dad (The Boss) is spinning in his grave right now. Looking at the complete pigs ear his son has made of the club.

Gone from Premier league champions to the worst managed club in the history of English football.

I hope Top is on a worldwide tour Looking for that fountain of eternal life.

Because he will not like the alternative 🫣

Exactly this. There is almost no way this goes well for us.

Economically, we don’t make sense to purchase.

We're also destined to become the 5 largest City in England, true it'll be the same people going to games but we're seen as a parochial city just a bit bigger than a town.

No smoke without fire, remember when reluctant bellend said a local consortium were in “early discussions” to buy the training ground and ground as part of asset restructuring with potential further investment further down the line.

That was prior to getting relegated.

There's always the possibility that KP sell us at a loss just to get rid and and side-line Top.

With the secrecy that King Power likes to cover all their operations in, it wouldn’t surprise me if this  news wasnt coming out until AFTER extensive negotiations had already taken place…

I don’t think that’s unique to King Power, I think that applies to every business acquisition negotiation that’s ever taken place in the history of time.

No club at that level or even Championship fodder are worth £150m +

I know it’s somewhat of an outlier because of their commercial success off the field, but Wrexham were reportedly valued at £340m before further investment was made.

We’re going to be owned by Fawaz or some clown of his ilk. Slow handclap for the King Power Out movement.

So King Power sell us to unsuitable new owners because they're no longer fit to run the club and it's the fans fault?

They would also be to blame for selling us to the wrong people.

with previous owners at Leicester, we have seemed to get some leaks on transfer dealings and even in the first couple of years of king power ownership … but that all seemed to stop and they certainly tightened up to make sure no leaked info got out…

Also their consistent upward trajectory on the pitch has helped with unrealised gains with potential huge growth (premier league..) which has helped further investment.

Us on the other hand we have been mismanaged on and off the pitch with a steady decline over the last 5 years (if not a little longer IMO), so our downward trajectory on the pitch has severely impacted the valuation of the club as an asset,  the potential (it does still have !) will only ever be realised again by better management at every level of the club and investment. Anyone who still believes KP are capable of doing both, we you're completely delusional.

I’d hazard a guess that this was a back up option should no buyers be found as surely it weakens the sellers position as all you are left with is a bunch of shit, overpaid players and a hell of a lot of debt which needs paying off.

This was probably the “shit, we are about to go into administration” plan.
