Who signs an unknown Bosnian 23yo forward from the Slovenian leagues as a knee jerk reaction?

A knee jerk reaction was over spending on a £15m Vestergaard on a 5 year contract because Fofana got injured and you're panicking that you need a household name Premier League ready centre back to come and step in.

It doesn't even look likely to be agent driven, it appears his agent is an independent with a tiny local client base if any at all?

Whether or not this turns out to be a good signing is still up in the air but it does look like a signing that's the result of either actual traditional scouting or some data analytics department. Whether ours or City Football Group's is another matter.

A knee jerk reaction is signing someone in panic if your main targets dont arrive.

The signings we have made or looking to make feel like like the summer under Enzo. You understand why they are getting signed and are actually filling the gaps that was required.

The same comments probably got made at Hermansen and Fatawu potential transfer fee at the time, but I can see logic in all the signings so far.

Listen, i desperately want the kid to do well.

All i am saying is that it doesnt fit with the mould of the other signings.

Again, if purse strings are tight 2/3 M on an unknown quantity in an unknown league is a high risk strategy.

3M in league 1 actually is a decent fee for teh league.

I haven't seen any fee reported over 2 million euros, including bonus so the fee is going to be closer to 1 million up front.

Fatawu didn't fit with Coady and BEK didn't match with Ayew and Reid.

Theres a risk with every transfer, which you will never know how it works out till they have arrived and played for the club.

The trouble is, what's the alternative? Danny Ings on a free? Leyton Orient want £5m+ for Ballard, for example. Other recent League One top scorers would likely require £3m+

I'm sorry, have we reached a level of stupidity where it's now incomprehensible to some people that a post with actual paragraphs in it might actually have been written by a person?

I've reached a level where I can tell when someone has written a post using AI and I'd say there's a level of stupidity if you can't recognise it.

When someone's usual posts have actual human opinions about a topic and then they suddenly start posting generic, overly articulated definitions of 'what a transfer window is' or 'the changing narrative of our transfer window' it doesn't take Einstein to work it out.

Thats not my department, thats what the club employ people to do , but what i am saying it goes against the grain of the other signings.

What i do know is you get a CF with L2/L1 record of goals for 1-2M

Maybe Glover has put is oar in and recommended him, if thats the case, god help us.

Nobody put words in your mouth. I just disagreed with the words you used.

Customers at my work regularly accuse real people of exactly this, and it is roundly found hilarious. People are also able to structure arguments and posts mate

@coolhandfox has been on this forum over a decade, has over 20k posts and as far as I can remember they've pretty much all been conversational and thought out like that? Maybe I'm completely oblivious but I can't say I've noticed a significant change in his posting style?

Meanwhile, a brief glance at your profile looks like you've been randomly following him round the forum accusing him of posting AI slop like you're a bit obsessed with him lol

You might be a bit chronically online, brother. Go touch a bit of grass and get some sun.

Spotted two obvious AI posts in two days and coincidence they're both this chap so no, not following him around but I get it.

Yes, you're probably right I think I need to go out for a walk.

Do you have a list of these?

Tolaj has just gone from Plymouth (L1) to Bristol City (Champ) for £4m + add-ons

Kone scored 18 goals for Wycombe in L1 in 24/25 and went to QPR for £3-5M

Forest (Champ) signed Assombalonga from Peterborough (L1) for £5-8M in 2014.

Toney went from Peterborough (L1) to Brentford (Champ) for £5-10m in 2020

Dwight Gayle went from Peterborough (L1) to Palace (newly promoted to PL) in 2013 for £4.5m

Calling these three "risks" massively discredits the amount of scouting and work we did on each. They weren't random punts or players with a notable history of failure.

Don't think Mahrez was scouted as we were looking at someone else and Mahrez stood out - he may have been watched several times after, but it was luck that we stumbled across him.

I know - but that didn't make the signing a risk, we subsequently did our due dilligence.

Every single signing has an element of risk regardless of any due diligence. Numerous experts in Germany felt Kane was a huge risk.

Well obviously – but it doesn't really make sense why you'd hone in on those you'd mentioned.

??????? explain

You've created a narrative that this is only happening as an act of desperation but there's zero evidence for that and I can see nothing that supports this as being a different signing to the others we've made. I would say buying an aging expensive maybe Ings would have been much more of an outlier.

He played almost exclusively as a lone forward in a 4231 and was largely used as an outlet for balls pumped forward which ( @kingfox @Ric Flair) will explain the extremely high number of aerial duels and also the high number of aerial duels lost, as strikers very rarely win those challenges.

No one has mentioned yet that he only started 7 games, with four of them being the last four games.
