No one has mentioned yet that he only started 7 games, with four of them being the last four games.

Yeah his return when starting games was frightening.

So if we sign championship scorers who are experienced it is naff because of the sell on. When we take a chance it is naff because they have no record in a good league. Are we expecting youngsters from top leagues or with records like Haaland?

Yeah but also only starting 7 games at 22 in Slovenia is a little bit frightening. :fc:

Do you have a list of these?

Tolaj has just gone from Plymouth (L1) to Bristol City (Champ) for £4m + add-ons

Kone scored 18 goals for Wycombe in L1 in 24/25 and went to QPR for £3-5M

Forest (Champ) signed Assombalonga from Peterborough (L1) for £5-8M in 2014.

Toney went from Peterborough (L1) to Brentford (Champ) for £5-10m in 2020

Dwight Gayle went from Peterborough (L1) to Palace (newly promoted to PL) in 2013 for £4.5m

All this post does is makes me need to look who Peterborough’s striker is nowadays lol

Harry Leonard?

20 year old David Kamara who seems to have been on loan to Harborough Town last season!

In a well ran recruitment department you'd take confidence that the data suggests a very progressive player who is only just being used frequently and the risk of a small sample size if offset by what he has delivered. Whether our recruitment team are well ran is open to discussion.

There are other English clubs that have also tried to sign him and one of them has signed and got considerable success with strikers such as this so again i'm taking confidence in that.

What’s the other club who has tried to sign him who has considerable success with strikers?

Damned if you do and damned if you don’t mate.

Literally yes.

The club will only be judged on the transfer if he scores goals.

Nobody whinged about Jordan James for being an agent led signing because he was a success.

This has a faint whiff of Marco Boogers singing for West Ham. Wonder if Rudkin had to unplug the fax machine to play the highlights VHS to Brussel...?

10 yellow cards in 11 starts is exactly what I'm looking for.

I think we're going to love him.

And we chose Daka:whistle:

Weirdly enough in 2016 Steve Walsh who had just left to go to Everton has line up a £4m deal for Haaland. But their idiot board vetoed the deal. Our bigger idiots at board level let Walsh go and presumably we’d have been the club to get him. We clearly using the previous scouting data base and black book went in for the other one. Sliding doors I guess.

Easy to say in hindsight but in 2016 Haaland was 16. He'd only played for Byrne reserves in the Norwegian 3rd tier lol

They chose to sign DCL over him.

On the one hand Bristric hasn't started many games and at 23 you'd expect him to be a bit further along in his development than he is.

But on the other hand he's done well when he has started, his goals-to-minutes ratio is really good and he's started to show that he could be coming of age in a division with a very similar power ranking to League One, showing that - if he can come in and settle - his next step could be starting and scoring regularly at the level we're at.

Does that about capture the prevailing narrative?

Can't keep employees hostage, he wanted to go to Everton.
