One thing that I DO like about this signing is that, if we are to play JJ or Aluko at RB, having a RWer in front of them who is good defensively will really help them and give them the best chance of succeeding.

Agreed, I think RM has settle on Joseph first up I think its he's shirt to lose.

If they are going to be good enough to sell they have to be good enough to win a slot in the team. 

agreed, they should be 3 names that you build the team around (along with Nelson if he stays / is fit) not because they might get us up, but their stock increases with every minute they play. 

 

 

If you are signing players that have no sellable value then you HAVE TO start Aloko or Joseph , Page, Braybrooke, Alves, and Nelson (if fit)  we need the next big sale and we need this model to work. You can only by experienced if you are going to mix it with the academy players. You cannot buy experience and replace the younger players as it will slowly kill the club which is already on life support.

I agree with this if they have done a proper character reference, not arsed if they are 30 or 18, need the right attitude and bollox for league 1and he does have proven experience, Vestegaard, WInks and Co are all indolent with huge ego's. 

 

You need a mix, I don't think people realise you are playing in a cup final every single week, every team wanting the scalp, fans close to the pitch. Need some life experience around the team

 

Should only be a 1 year contract as well, two years max

I've seen an interesting opinion from an Ipswich fan that says he works very well with Chaplin, so probably the thinking there, that they already have an understanding. I think its a smart play myself

I really don’t know enough about how the whole psr thing works, especially in this league, but I wonder if buying from a club that we sold a player to means we can write off some of the value and it not count against us in terms of spend.

i think it’s a shrewd signing, but could there be some shrewd accounting going on by us, Ipswich or both?

That’s some considerable weight what needs fresh cash to service. 
 

The Saudi investor has picked Derby because it’s debt free. By comparison anyone buying Leicester has to service an existing debt, hence why KP have to consider that they mostly likely have to drop in their price (in the same you would with a house which is worth £400k but then there’s a hole in the roof - the purchaser would look to deduct the cost of the repair out of the price ). 

Thought the outstanding debt was now much lower than that.

I don’t love either signing but I think your friend is correct. They played under McKenna, whose system isn’t a million miles away from Martin’s. The issue is what we do with them next season assuming we go up, but we were always going to sign a few players like this.
