Is he still there?? Looks remarkably like Frankie Detorri

Ha! Yeah, a bit. He wasn't there when I walked past the other day but I've definitely seen him in there in the last few months.

Imagine that being your living for years on end. Can't fault the graft

Grinding gears is a bit much, but why is that King of Thailand nonsense still going on the advertising boards? It was over a year ago, get over it lads.

Im not sure if its a thai custom or royal custom only but they just buried theguy last week. They wait 1 year or there abouts from death. I could google it but i cant be bothered.  Would assume this was the last time they will run the message?

Yesterday was the last and most important day of the funeral I think, so would imagine the message won't be there any more:

Can't wait to see more adverts for Pepsi and mansion casino like it was in the good old days before this funeral nonsense took over our hoardings;)

The annual moan about poppy Nazism. You kind of get numb to it every year, to be honest... but two instances I've seen have made me shake my head with rage and shame at the people I share this country with.

A) the Wetherspoons SO INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS troll account announcing staff can't wear poppies. What able minded human looks at their Twitter handle and things "oh aye, that's a logical choice for a massive chain to choose." answer of course is that they didn't, the thick shits jumped to conclusions, instant boycotts and denouncements that Wetherspoons is the worst outlet on the streets of the UK.

B) The unfolding "outrage" at Moeen Ali. A squad photo is posted where he's not wearing a poppy. Now, my logical moan is that people are again jumping to conclusions (the poppy fell off) before doing any sort of research before expressing surprise or outrage.

But no. My outrage is that there's any misplaced outrage in the first place. So what Ali wasn't wearing a poppy, fell off or not. Why is it unsaid LAW that people MUST wear a poppy? Why? I literally cannot get my head around it. It seems to get earlier on TV every year (probably doesn't) because broadcasters are so petrified of outraging those who are so vocal in asking why someone isn't wearing a poppy.

Doesn't it get to a stage that when you force people to wear a poppy (and that's essentially what's happening now in TV and the public eye) you completely lose the meaning? Something that's slipped on by a producer to save complaints in the long term isn't exactly full of meaning.

Anyway, it'll only get worse, and I'm sure there will be an episode of physical violence towards someone for not wearing a poppy one day.

An interesting and well articulated post.

Maybe worthy of a thread in it's own right imo.

Could be a lively discussion!

I'm all for the poppy, for the respect of those that served the country but unfortunately whose lives ended in tragedy; but, based on one particular thread, think it's best if personally leave out on voicing an opinion on probably another sensitive subject matter for the time being..:frantics:

Some of the football 'news' on the BBC website, that has a "have your say" section at the bottom.

There's a story currently about Morata apparently unhappy in London but now clarified that he's happy to stay there. What's the point of commenting on something which is not a big talking point?..

When you're having a dream about a sexually attractive individual and it's all getting bit steamy, you want them, they want you, so you both lean in to kiss and their mouth is inexplicably full of gag-inducing mushy cornflakes.  Why, dream, why?

A friend getting flak from her boss at work about having to take time off for essential surgery. You know, it's only surgery, it's not important, right?

Honestly, that could also extend into the entire attitude this country I'm living in has towards health-care as it seems to be a part of that.

As with all dreams - it means you've got an Oedipus complex.

Freudian psychology is easy.

As i discovered when i worked there, the british worker is taken advantage of and treated far worse than in Oz.

Yes, I am.

But seriously, where the fvck does that boss get off with that attitude?

I get being annoyed at someone for taking time off all the time for questionable problems but surgery I mean come on? I know someone who broke there back in the course of their work and got so much grief for being off for a month.
