Popular Post Corky Posted 18 February 2018 Popular Post Share Posted 18 February 2018 Clubs who bleat on about being massive are just desperate. Yeah, having a history of success is great, but time and football moves on. I'm glad we're doing well at the moment and hope it continues. The fact is, the Premier League has had over 50 clubs participate. We're all one of many interchangeable clubs below about 10. Fulham spent 13 years in there, Wigan had 8, Wimbledon even had a 14-year stretch in the top flight. So many of these "giants" need to get in the real world and understand you'll have periods of success, failure, improvement and decline. It's only really Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal that have been consistently in the top flight, winning trophies, in the top six and playing in Europe. No team is a sleeping giant, you're a fairly big club who won a few trophies and have spells in and out of the top flight. Plenty of us are. Some can cope with it, some clearly can't.
davieG Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 Cov had 25 years in the top flight and won the FA Cup. Even Liverpool were in the 2nd tier before they got Shankly in. MAN Utd were relegated in 1974 not long after Busby retired.
yorkie1999 Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 What makes the difference between a big club and small club, apart from the glory , history money and all that kind of stuff, is a big clubs fans don’t bother what a small clubs fans think of them..... We're evens to come 7th (Burnley 9/4, Everton 9/2*) and 5th favourites, behind the obvious four, to win the FA Cup. So according to the bookies, if we do come 7th and any of the top five favourites for the FA Cup win it, we're in Europe. * I actually don't think that's a bad price. They aren't far off it and have a decent run in. What price are the bookies offering that the Sheffield United message boards stop winging about us before next Christmas? cambridgefox Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 Loved it.Deluded twats,as one said “embarrassing” and he hoped no other teams fans read the Forum. They are so big that when they played Cambridge a few years back in the cup they only took a few hundred. i was in Birmingham on the Saturday before Xmas, again hardly saw any and the usual drinking places sparse. Stadt Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 The exact same thing happened after the League Cup win against them. Forums are always full of freaks though and every Blade in Sheffield I've met has been complimentary about us and would admit, perhaps grudgingly, that we're a bigger club. But let’s get some facts in place Leicester City have won more major trophies in the past 20 years than Spurs, Everton, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham all put together. We are now getting to a stage where we have had as many PL seasons as Derby, Forest, the Sheffield clubs and soon we will go past Leeds. At what point does that ‘sleeping giant club’ so often in the Championship with 10,000 empty seats finally get dismissed as yesterday’s news? At what point do you take them away for the ‘built for Premier League’ line off them? Cos they aren’t. The Championship is full of serial failures of clubs who for 20 years plus have been a shambles. We've had far more than all of those and not far behind Leeds. All time Premier League table

Spudulike Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 To be fair, Derby have one record that we don't.... Lowest points total ever in a Premier League season (11pts, including one win).

Dan LCFC Posted 18 February 2018 Share Posted 18 February 2018 I don't think I'll ever truly get my head around that Derby side. 11 points in a season for some context, West Brom, who've won 1 game in 25, have already nearly doubled that with a third of the season to go.

Popular Post davieG Posted 20 February 2018 Popular Post Share Posted 20 February 2018 American asks Reddit users for advice on supporting Leicester City - and some of the replies are hilarious The dad wrote the post after his 'soccer obsessed' son, 6, decided to follow the Foxes By Dan Bird 14:04, 19 FEB 2018 An American dad has asked Reddit users for advice on supporting Leicester City after his six-year-old son decided to follow the Foxes. Posting under the name Daltxponyv2, the man wrote that his son is “soccer obsessed” and chose City as his team because he liked the fox on the club’s badge. He added: “I'm a man of my word that he could pick his team, and so now we're loyal fans of the Foxes. “What do new Foxes fan need to know? “I'm sure I could use my google-fu on this, but in this sport fans mean the most.” His post has been picked up by several City fans – and some of their responses are hilarious. TheSesquipedalian posted: “Your son has chosen wisely. He will learn many life lessons here. “He will suffer pain, doubt, despondence, delusion, regret and elation. The elation will be amplified because the other emotions will occur so much more frequently. “Keep an eye on him for periods of deep depression, it's normal. If he seems too happy and you think he must be on drugs, don't worry, he probably just heard we've signed a back-up right back for Simpson.” James Wilson shoots past Danny Simpson during The Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round match between Leicester City and Sheffield United (Image: Michael Regan/Getty Images) He added: “It's important to remember that true Leicester fans try to avoid looking on the bright side of things, it temps fate.” Lcfcboxman1986 posted: “Just enjoy the ride on the crazy rollercoaster that is supporting Leicester City. Welcome to the family.” While Will4noobs wrote: “Quick word of warning, LCFC is certainly not an easy club to support, all of our wins are hard fought and nail-biting until the final whistle. “Our main objective every season is to avoid relegation and anything more than that is a bonus. We have a talented squad but try not to get too attached because any stand out players will inevitably get swiped by the bigger clubs in the transfer window.” 1

Bilo Posted 20 February 2018 Share Posted 20 February 2018 I know a couple of Sheffield United fans who are absolutely lovely people, they're family friends of Harry Maguire as it goes, but some of the wallopers on that thread are surreal. One bloke's pointed out that claiming they're bigger than us is just embarrassing, and he just gets absolutely rounded on as though he's suggested renaming Bramall Lane the Jimmy Savile Arena. Strange lot.
