kingfox Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 If that's true, good luck to Bolton. You are getting the most overrated player in the Npower Championship
Raw Dykes Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Matt Mills is one of the finest players to pull on a Leicester Cirty shirt, he is incredibly valuable and highly skilled....if you can snap him up for anything under 5 million...youve done a great deal Owen! Very funny! One of the most expensive? Yes. One of the finest? Come off it. If we can get him off the wage bill without paying him a penny to do it, then that would be the deal of the summer for us. If we can get someone to pay us anything at all to take him off our wage bill, then we'll be laughing.

lcfc1994 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 According to reports in the Bolton News, Leicester City defender Matt Mills could be a transfer option for Trotters boss Owen Coyle. However, the reports claim that Coyle will only follow up any interest in Mills, who has also been linked with Celtic, if Zat Knight doesn't sign a new contract at the Reebok Stadium. http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/clockwatch
KFS Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Would rather he signed for Celtic and they keep hands off of Stewart. No doubt Mills would come good for Bolton, it's the Leicester way.
jock2612 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 If its true that a loan deal to Celtic has been rejected, that is ridiculous .I have an awful feeling that he will come back and haunt us if he goes to a championship side. The Bolton interest is only half hearted and the worst possible outcome for all concerned would be for him to be still here for pre-season.If we are backing NP then we need to get rid ASAP!!

paddy Agyemang Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Shame to see him leave to championship opposition but if he's not gonna play then 3+ mill

If he is able to fall out with Nigel Pearson, I dont rate his chances of a successful relationship with Neil Lennon!
Babylon Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 If its true that a loan deal to Celtic has been rejected, that is ridiculous . Yeah ridiculous, we must accept any offer anyone gives us.

I thought Mills actually was one of the most overrated players City had bought in recent memory. Dare I say, up there with Akinbadbyi... And more recently Jermaine Beckford. Others, such as Oz obviously think differently. But to get Mills off the wage bill AND recoup some of the money paid for him is something that I feel will be of both benefit to the club and the player. There is no point having a player at the football club that APPEARS to have such a row with the manager that he doesn't want to play anymore and the manager doesn't want him. Letting him go therefore makes sense IMO. Finally, the manager has to able to manage.. 'Player rule' usually results in disaster.
Lambert09 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Yeah ridiculous, we must accept any offer anyone gives us. they may have not been willing to pay his full wages, I'd rather sell him on the cheap and get rid completely... well or give him another shot
MGLCFC Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I'm not convinced Mills isn't a decent defender, what I am convinced about is that the transfer made him think he was better than he actual is. Things have gone too far for him to have a future at Leicester IMO. So sell up and move on. By the way, I predict if Beckford stays and plays a full season he'll score 25+ goals. He's a good finisher, has good movement, but playing long balls up to him is just not his game. It's a bit like asking Steve Howard to play on the wing.

Chazwaz Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Fourth Official @Fourth_Official Bolton have made a £1.5million bid for Leicester City's Matt Mills, negotiations will be on going as the foxes want a bigger fee #BWFC#LCFC Worth posting as tis a reliable source P.S I'd sell him for that and less...
Toffee_Fox Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Leicester want £3m, but Bolton know like Celtic do that they are desperate to get rid, probably meet more at £2million and clauses, he'd prefer a move to Bolton over Celtic.
Mark_w Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 £1.5m? I'd take it. Decent return and we get him off the wage bill.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 £1.5 million?! His value certainly hasn't risen but it hasn't depreciated that much - if we sell for anything less than £2.5 mill that would be very poor business. Also, I think the club are absolutely right to seek a permanent transfer for MM, there is really no point in loaning him out if he's finished at LCFC.
jock2612 Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 1.5 M +20-25k wages saved - SELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adster Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I'd take it. Decent return and we get him off the wage bill. My reason for laughing at that are pretty much the same as Paddy's.
