Anyone would be forgiven for thinking it's a documentary. Even the Prime Minister seems to think so. No idea why this piece of fiction needs to get touted around schools. Kids can watch it on Netflix the same as anyone else if they want to. Are we to expect a knock on the door soon to make sure that we've watched it?

The issues it highlights are, sad to say, very real, have a tangible cost and need to be highlighted in schools and wherever else would be useful.

Of course, a direct fact based documentary might be better for that purpose, but that's difficult to gauge.

Just that he’s a massive tool, but maybe you’re a fan.

Have you watched it?

It's not his normal dicking about, the program highlights the struggles of the farming community in a entertaining way.

Following the Ruth Ellis drama ITV showed a documentary about her and the case. They did not mention that after shooting David Blakely that she also fired into the pavement and the shot then hit a woman bystander in the hand losing the use of her thumb. This went against Ellis at the trial as it was seen as reckless. Not sure this was not referred to in the drama or documentary.

A couple of days ago was in the pub next to where she murdered Blakely. There are a couple of 'bullet holes' in the walls that the then landlady apparently put in in the 1990s!

I think it's very modern Britain - the problem imo is cultural but the suggested solution is prohibition, increased monitoring and talking more about feelings

Not an expert on these type of arrests. Would   armed Police have raided in this type of instance?

My old man, who's a country raised, men are men, men have no feelings caveman type rang me after he'd finished watching it and he was shaken up by it.

Far too many parents don't understand what their kids see and/or do online and if a show like this can reach a man like my old man, it could reach enough people to be useful.

It was fiction not based, allegedly, on any particular case despite what the leader of the opposition stated. I don't know why these particular characters were chosen to play these roles or what statement they were trying to make about this demographic.

If there is a need to show this type of content in schools then I think a proper documentary needs to be made using real life cases and the consequences of online influences. Stick to the facts.

I don't think that a fictitious drama is very helpful.

In the 80's and 90's we were shown loads of fictitious stuff that was worthwhile. Think about all those education videos that were hard hitting and psychology damaging but with an important lesson.

This is just the modern version.

Humans have been telling stories since we've had the language to be able to. We have been learning from each other from fiction and from truth that entire time.

Maybe a documentary would be more useful, maybe not. The fact that Adolescence has caused as much discussion as it has, presenting issues (which we know full well exist) in an emotive way, is evidence enough of the power and usefulness of good fiction.

I think you can argue that with works of fiction it is perhaps easier for people to map their own experiences against the themes of the story, rather than against that of a documentary with much more specific events.

Everyone is going to have their own opinion and learn in their own way. I'm not in any way saying that this should be the only medium for educating parents, just that it will help some. In pretty much the same way that 13 reasons why and sex education, both fictional tv shows, helped with their own issues.

Every little helps imo.

First episode of Mobland

Guy Ritchie directing a very Guy Ritchie type story and Tom Hardy doing Tom Hardy which is fun if you like that sort of thing. Pierce  Brosnan doing dodgy Irish gangster I’m not too sure about yet though as it’s a bit too much but hopefully I can get over it.
definitely worth a laugh if nothing else

Yes an A list cast clearly enjoying themselves.  I don’t mind black comedies like this,  so two episodes in will stick with it.
