lcfc278 Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Getting rid of Pearson would, in my mind, be a huge mistake. I think if we look back to last season which was an absolute mess, looking at where we are now even after our last 9 games is better than i would have expected. Everyone talks about how we've got a great squad and should be up there, the job Pearsons done from turning around the team and the attitude from last year is spot on. I know i'd have taken a play-off place with 8 games to go if someone gave me the choice at the beginning of the season. Regardless of whether we go up, make the play-offs or dont, Pearsons built a great foundation which i think he should be allowed to finish, something most managers dont get a chance to do. On the other hand though I work in Nottingham and am getting hammered by Forest and Derby fans so I am looking forward to things changing for the better soon - something i hope this trip to Portugal will give the squad.
hackneyfox Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Funny because I seem to remember you using it to "muddy the water" quite a bit not so long ago. Perhaps I did but we're past that now. I was happy to question his substitutions, tactics and man management skills even when he was getting results (in between poor runs). I have always had my doubts about him and was happy to say why but we've reached the point where he can be judged on performances alone and they are getting more abject game by game. I see your support of him isn't quite as strident as it used to be.
hackneyfox Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Regardless of whether we go up, make the play-offs or dont, Pearsons built a great foundation which i think he should be allowed to finish, something most managers dont get a chance to do. I'd agree that he has and his back room boys have brought in some young promising players, unfortunately it is a managers job to get those players performing to their best week after week and to create a team whose sum is greater than its parts. For me that is where he has failed, the se players seem to be regressing rather than progressing.
kingfox Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Well Adkins is 4/5 to take over at Reading, and 11/8 to take over at Leeds. So I think you can all calm down a bit.
LJS Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I don't think he is going anywhere to be honest. I imagine they'd have pulled the trigger by now if Derby was the clincher. The odds mean nothing though. They go with the money. Reading is vacant and Leeds definitely will be. Of course they are favourites.
unreachable Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I think it's hard to criticise the defence and attack that NP has inherited/acquired. NP deserves criticism in establishing a midfield without sufficient experience and "nastiness". Anyone remember Bobbie Kellard and Willie Carlin who tackled for fun? I don't agree with sacking him now.
dynamark Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 We used to have saying 'legs like bobby kellard'unfortunatley referring to young ladies
Babylon Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Well Adkins is 4/5 to take over at Reading I really do not get that one.
Ric Flair Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I really do not get that one. I don't either. McDermott and Adkins both did admirable jobs at their respective clubs and yet have been removed for supposedly not being good enough, so why would you bring in another manager whose simialr in credentials? Bizarre. I'd have either here though if Pearson does get the boot.
body102 Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 my mate is on his way to benidorm and was at birmingham airport the same time as the city players who are off to portugal , quote from him was 'Whole squad now here. Pearson looks stressed out.' ']So the rumours from the other site that he wasn't even with the city squad are completely untrue
1964FOX Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Too many crap rumours going around today that he has been sacked today, if people haven't got proper evidence then just shut up please I don't want to hear or read rubbish.
Carl the Llama Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 PEARSON'S BEEN SACKED! Is what I'd say if he was quarterbacking an American Football match and failed to make the snap before being tackled.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 Attitude, desire and quality?? Yes it was there, sadly gone... The Derby match was one of the most dreadful games of football I've seen City play in many a year. The standard was shocking. Attitude, desire and quality... Pah Over the course of the season would you not say that is the case? Having said that, we are in grave danger of throwing away and wasting a hell of a lot of potential that this team has and we need to rediscover those standards that we know we're capable of playing to. If we do, I would say we have a good chance in the play-offs. Hopefully the break can revitalise us.
Happy Fox Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I am surprised he is still even here! Though I suppose when they come back from Portugal in 4 days time the Thais will probably give him his marching orders when we have secured our new manager (Adkins)
fleckneymike Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 45 pages and still going strong! Unlike our season...
smudger63 Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I am surprised he is still even here! Though I suppose when they come back from Portugal in 4 days time the Thais will probably give him his marching orders when we have secured our new manager (Adkins) Possibly, but i would have thought if they were going to get rid of him, it would have been before they sent him and the squad on a jolly up to portugal.I think it`s more likely now, that they will give him until the end of the season, in which case i hope that all the faith that the Pearsonites have shown in him, is well placed, and he turns things around, and proves the doubters like myself wrong!

Yeah I agree entirely ...... If he's gone on hols with the squad then he's here to stay til the end of the season .... just hope he proves me wrong by turning it around.

promised land Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 It's all over folks . . . . Breaking news I've just seen pep guardiola's mother in law book into the ibis in Birstall I have never understood why that hotel is there, it isn't like it's a 4 hour journey to Leics or Loughborough from there so if you're travelling through and feel tired I'm fairly certain you could make one of the towns or cities near by. Also what an awful spot it's in, no peace and quite with the A46 going one way and A6 the other. Alan Partridge would like it with the petrol station on site with a scaled down supermarket inside.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I was excited to see what he was ordering
Albert Posted 18 March 2013 Posted 18 March 2013 I am surprised he is still even here! Though I suppose when they come back from Portugal in 4 days time the Thais will probably give him his marching orders when we have secured our new manager (Adkins) From what I've been told by a friend that is involved with Leeds is its a done deal that Adkins will take over from Warnock at the end of the season
