Matt Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I don't tend to read books but might have to get this.
whoareyaaa Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Rubbish. Not as good in the tackle or range of passing. Lamapard owes half his goals to Makelele. He is a better tackler yes but Lampard is the more intelligent player and the better all round player with his only downfall being his tackling. Lampard’s career statistics are mind-boggling: 800 appearances, 241 goals and 124 assists. Compare this with Steven Gerrard's 159 goals and 100 assists in 629 appearances, and with Xavi's 84 goals and 89 assists in 733 appearances.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Wait how old is Ramsey and how old is Gerrard ? Gerrard struggle with injuries just like Ramsey has, when he was younger. Say arsenal win the league and champions league this season ? Will that prove my point ?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 how has this turned into a Ramsey vs Gerrard debate? **** me
Uncle Albert Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I can end the debate right now, by the time Steven Gerrard was 21 he had already won the League Cup, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup, Ramsey has won 0, now please Hugo quit with the bollocks.
Uncle Albert Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Congratulations, University was worth while for you.
kingfox Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Hopefully there's a chapter specifically about Mads Timm, now he is a player who is better than Gerrard and Ramsey put together.
purpleronnie Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I don't tend to read books but might have to get this. Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world.
Aus Fox Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Gerrard, Lampard, Ramsey in that order. Ramsey is looking good at the minute but has got a long long way to go in his career before he can be mentioned in the same sentence as Gerrard and Lampard. The big difference between Gerrard and Lampard is the big games throughout their careers in the big games Gerrard takes it to new levels of brilliance. He digs in and single handedly wins games. I can't recall a game where Lampard has done this If you switch the players clubs could you see Lampard winning the champions league that night in Istanbul not to mention a few of the earlier rounds.
Guesty Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Since he's dishing the dirt on everyone I hope other people let his secrets out of the bag (if he's got any). Seem's a bit petty and like he's selling some of his integrity for a quick buck - he might not even be writing a book if it wasn't for the players he's slagging off.
marko Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 He is a better tackler yes but Lampard is the more intelligent player and the better all round player with his only downfall being his tackling. Compare this with Steven Gerrard's 159 goals and 100 assists in 629 appearances, and with Xavi's 84 goals and 89 assists in 733 appearances. So Lampard's better than Xavi as well? If Lampard had to get through as much work as Gerrard he wouldn't have scored that many. He had carte blanche to get forward without having to worry about tracking back anywhere near as much as Gerrard. On the assists stat, Gerrard has a superior assists to games ratio and I dare say this would be even higher if he had had the quality of striker in front of him that Lampard has done during his Chelsea career. It's obviously a subjective matter, but for me Gerrard is the superior passer in both short pass and long pass, as well as the speed of the pass. I often think Lampard isn't as good at retaining the ball and plays a few terrible passes. Lampard certainly can't haul a team up from the floor like Gerrard. There are countless matches that Gerrard has pretty much won Liverpool the match single-handedly with his tenacity and drive. I genuinely can't recall Lampard doing this.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 He is spot on about Gerrard though, if Gerrard was from Chile nobody would rave about him. He's shit. Utterly shit, I'd honestly say I'd rather have Scot Parker on his day.

ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2013 Author Posted 22 October 2013 I'd rather have Gerrard with no legs than Scott Parker in the form of his life.

DennisNedry Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I don't think you can use trophies a player has won when deciding how good they are. That depends on the team they are in. On Ferguson, he's a fantastic manager but he's a cvnt, I thought everybody already knew that.

foxfanazer Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Some absolute shite being spoken on here tonight Gerrard has never been a top player? Have a word with yourselves. Just cuz Fergie was a great manager doesn't mean everything he says is right
