Brazil v Croatia Match Thread

It's finally here. A couple of weeks worth of 2/3 games a day, the best football tournament in the world.

Fancy 3-1 Brazil. They'll want to put a show on and send a message out, but Croatia are no mugs even though the scoreline I'm predicting would edge towards that.

Enjoy everyone.

the first half is crucial. Brazil dont get off to a flyer and the pressure will be massive. Croatia are no mugs but without Mandzukic it will be difficult for them. Im going to go with a 2-0 win for Brazil.

I would be absolutely stunned to see anything other than a Brazil victory here.

Unbeaten in their last nine friendlies and looking more and more solid in defence, Brazil have players all over the pitch who can win games by themselves, the likes of Neymar, Fred, Oscar, Willian to name but four.

Croatia will probably try and keep it tight for as long as they can but I feel that once Brazil score, they will go on to win this by 2 or 3 goals.

I think Brazil might crumble under the pressure of having the home advantage and being favourites. Or, they might be cocky, much less likely. Croatia are missing Mandzukic and that's a massive loss.

2-1 Brazil

Going with 2-0 Brazil, Fred to score first goal.

Croatia's performance will rely heavily on Modric & Rakitic, but with Mandzukic suspended I can't really see them scoring.

Brazil have too much flair, pundits will talk up Neymar before the game, saying he will be the major threat, but for me Oscar is the main man, last couple of times I've seen Brazil, he has been their best player.

Bring it on, just a shame the first game is on ITV.

Comfortable Brazil win.

I know Croatia have some decent players (Modric, Rakitic, Perisic to name a few), but I'm not buying in to the notion that they'll shock the majority and come up with something special to beat Brazil.

2-0 or 3-0 to Brazil. Neymar with 2 and Paulinho.

I've just got a nagging feeling Croatia are going to win and Eduardo is going to score.

I've no idea why on paper you'd expect Brazil to win every day of the week.

As long as Brazil wear yellow, I don't care who wins lol

That said, I'm absolutely buzzing for it to start. Can't wait.

I'll go with a 2-1 win for Brazil, as well.

WC openers are usually a tough affair, Brazil having all the pressure and expectations lingering and Croatia not daring too much.

Will probably start out rather slow and then pick up pace as the game progresses.

£20

That's a bit rich for me, but double your money & it should leave me with a nice balance for the rest of the World Cup.

Dead certs seem to kick me in the bollocks every time!!

3-1 Brazil

Fred, Neymar, Silva

Modric.

Loved Brazil at the confeds last year, absolutely sublime on their own turf (and most others to be fair)

Read today that nobody has ever lost their opening game as tournament host.

To be fair it always used to be the defending champions who would open the tournament and not the host nation, so this record isn't as impressive as you'd think. I'm sure they changed it only a few World Cups ago?

I hope Brazil win in style but I'll take any kind of win. This fixture in the 2006 World Cup was one of the worst Brazil performances I've ever seen. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Adriano were awful that day.

Come on Brazil!
