ScouseFox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 nugent needed to play and stand on gerrard all game imo. like he did to daley blind. shame.
Will1981 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Hamer De Laet - Wasly - Morgan Simpson ---------- Hammond ---------- Schlupp Drinky - James Mahrez Vardy
Babylon Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 NP: "Hull win was important but we've got to back it up today. Most won't give us a chance, but we have to give ourselves a chance." . So why is Hammond starting? Why are Cambiasso and Ulloa not starting? (At least De Laet is starting) Do you really need it explaining?
inckley fox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Is he trying to make life difficult for himself? If this goes wrong, that line he loves about how 'people who aren't involved in football should keep quiet' is going to ring especially hollow. Because I'm not involved in football and that looks like suicide. If we get a draw, of course, it'll be a masterstroke!
weller54 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 After a 0-0 then?.... Wonder how long it will take for us to concede?........
ozleicester Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 8/1 for the win.. and 15/1 for was to score.. . here comes the cash
Babylon Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 with De Laet and Simpson full backs I'd imagine. Oddly enough it's exactly the team I thought he might play. Ulloa was absolutely shattered the last game, Cambiasso will struggle with games so close together.
Saxondale Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 My guess is 5-4-1 with De Laet and Schlupp as the attacking wing backs.
inckley fox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Glad Hammond is back in the fold. Looked excellent this year and played a key part in our great start. Pack the midfield, get Vardy in from a central position (finally!) Strangely optimistic here - I can't see the Scousers getting nearly as much freedom in midfield today, and our extra men there may help on the counter. C'mon you blues. I'd feel happier if the side that played and won last week (minus Konchesky) was given another go. After all, unsettled sides and formations were central to our collapse in form. A heavy defeat and he could be in trouble all over again, and people will be asking whether he's learned from his errors. But it could work out, needless to say.
iancognito Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 He knows the condition of the players far better than we do. Also Ulloa up against 3 big CBs wouldve been a mismatch. With Vardy there there's less of a temptation to lump it.
Poznan34 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Pearson seems to always generate a random team/formation on New Years day. :xmaslaugh: So true. Remember Kennedy, Tunchev and Moore playing against Palace a few years back.
ealingfox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Really do get irritated with some of the shite he comes out with sometimes. Nailed-on defeat before the game's bloody started. No chance of a goal, no chance of a clean sheet. 3-0 Liverpool. Vardy up top ffs.
kingfox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Fvck knows what he is playing, but it's good to see Dean "The Enforcer" Hammond back in.
theessexfox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Nige's pre match comments suggest fatigue. Surely its: Hamer Simpson Was Wes De Laet Mahrez James Hammond Drinkwater Schupp Vardy
Spicer Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 I would guess Hamer Simpson Morgan Wasyl Schlupp Hammond De Laet James Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy
Sunbury Fox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Let's just get behind the team. Crucial game this as can see one of Burnley, Hull or Palace picking up a win, looking at their fixtures.
StanSP Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 it's like Palace a few years ago. Think Wasyl's getting on the scoresheet today...
Gary Eatfood Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 I'd feel happier if the side that played and won last week (minus Konchesky) was given another go. A heavy defeat and he could be in trouble all over again, and people will be asking whether he's learned from his errors. But it could work out, needless to say. But the Hull game wasn't 7 days ago it was last Sunday so in order to keep the players fresh we have to rotate.

Because I'm not involved in football and that looks like suicide. If we get a draw, of course, it'll be a masterstroke! Not sure I follow your logic about making it difficult. Same formation as against Man City. Left back out injured, replaced with another full back. King out injured replaced with James. Cambiasso old, replaced with Hammond. Anyone watching Ulloa could see he was out on his feet, similar Nugent against Hull.
MGLCFC Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 I'm going for Hamer Simpson Wasilewski Morgan De Laet Hammond Mahrez James Drinkwater Schlupp Vardy
Number 6 Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Surely if it was a back 5 then Moore would start? I'm expecting RDL right wing, Schlupp left back and Mahrez left wing in a 4-1-4-1. A lot could depend on how Hammond does.
Crinklyfox Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Liverpool haven't even put Balotelli on the bench - injured? Pity, I was looking forward to him trying to beat Was. They look very mobile with Coutinho, Lallana and Sterling, defence will have to be at its best today.
narboroughblue Posted 1 January 2015 Posted 1 January 2015 Need the fullbacks to join in going forward and play the ball to Vardy on the deck. James, Mahrez and Schlup with big responsibilities to get up to Vardy and join in. Tough ask but hopefully the changes will allow fresh legs to cause some problems. COYB
