Man City Match Thread (A)

Those of you criticising Schlupp for giving it away....his actual mistake was not going after it. Giving the ball away is part of playing attacking football. Jeff has to keep an edge to his game or he will cease to be a threat. His touch today has been reasonable, as it has most of the season (a definite improvement on last year at least).

Jeff didn't give the ball away as he was trying to attack, he gifted it with his poor control.

You're all blaming Jeff, yeah he gave the ball away but with the half ticking down, why was the entire team completely out of shape? Not one defensive player was where they should of been when we gave the ball away, half way in to their half, wasn't entirely Jeffs fault, all our players have given the ball away in that half near enough, and rarely that far up the pitch.

Leave off Schlupp, he's been one of our better performers this season.

Lack of quality/nous yet again though. Wes Morgan committing by throwing himself in taking himself out of the equation and Schwarzer scrambling round on the floor like a 70 year old who's just had his zimmer frame swiped from in front of him.

SO FRUSTRATING.

The half time whistle should have gone. But I'm clutching at straws... Schlupp gave the ball away and my god, schwazer was slow to get up and make a second save. It's a shame because we have defended very well so far. But maybe a more open game would suit us? Keep the faith...

To be fair there was about 9 or 10 players behind the ball when Schlupp lost the ball. Not all on him. Defending was woeful.

Exactly. As the poster above said, you give the ball away when attacking. We should have dealt with it far better at the back.

yeah im waiting for him to just ask huth to take goal kicks for him at this rate

First time i've ever seen a one footed goalkeeper in the prem as well. So used to seeing a keeper comfortable kicking out with both feet, then seeing him smash two of Konch's back passes out for a throw was weird.

Unlucky, we did not deserve to go in at half-time trailing the game. Feel sorry for Schlupp who's actually looked decent so far. In fact, most of the players have looked alright with James and Cambiasso impressing.

I thought Konchesky was at fault?

He could have cleared or challenged for the ball after Schwarzers save but he just stood there ball watching. Like he was waiting for the ball to come to him.  Cnut. Not the first time he has done that.

WTF are you on about. Any excuse to blame Konchesky.

What about that was great? If we're trying to kick the ball out of play every time we get possession then fair play.

It was basically Schlupp, Mahrez and Kramaric vs the entire Man City side whenever we had the ball. No chance, just inviting pressure.

You should've watched it, we played pretty well.

Are you drunk? lol accused of being negative coming to the Etihad to play one of the best teams in the world, incredible. What exactly would your alternative be that wouldn't see us get ripped a new arsehole and be embarrassed within 5 minutes?
