LCCFox96 Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Pretty much guarantees safety if we win. We would also hit the 'magic 40' point mark, hence the dreamland haha What a recovery this has been, we've almost doubled our season's total points in the last 7 games!
RowlattsFox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Done the business early again, comfortable after that. Let them have the ball and they couldn't break us down. About time mahrez delivers an end product, he needs to score more goals. Hull losing is massive, they need to beat spurs next week to catch us.
SecretPro Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Defence were incredible today, not only did each and every one of them defend like their lives depended on it with closing down and making sure in challenges but the organisation was absolutely top dollar. Huth has been incredible for us, not just for his own play but for the influence he has had on the back line in general. We were a brick wall today, watching Southampton pass from side to side constantly without ever moving forward was, to me, an absolute pleasure.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 I hope we rip Sunderland apart next week, seal safety in style!
Merging Cultures Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Good performance from the lads. It really does look like we are staying up!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Huth needs to be signed up next season... Morgan and Huth look like a top quality partnership...
TJB-fox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Wanted one of our centre halves to split that diving **** Mane in half, but I guess a Wasilewski forearm to the face will have to do!
Merging Cultures Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Huth needs to be signed up next season... Morgan and Huth look like a top quality partnership...Don't forget the rock that is Wasyl.Probably one of my most favourite players.
shailen Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Thought all season that we could stay up, having seen the way we have played for the majority of the season. When we were losing, I said this was one of our best teams in recent times, I still think it's better than MON's team technically and from a pure footballing point of view. Having said that I could never have predicted that we do what we have done. The job is not over yet, but I just cannot feel negative. We have pulled off the greatest of greatest escapes. It was just 7 games ago we were on 19 points, and we have almost matched that. This team is special, this manager is special and I think we will be a force in this league should we survive this season.
ScouseFox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 We were great first half today. Mahrez put in one of his best performances ever. Great goals too. Huth/Wes/Was are dons. The boys. Nobody getting past them I'm tellin ya.
Spudulike Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Possession, eh ?? Who needs it. 31% is more than enough
Clever Fox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Fantastic result again today from the lads. I think the early goal last week and today has settled the nerves quickly. While there were a lot of Big performances out there I thought Ulloa was immense. His work rate along with Steptoe's working the Southampton defence hard was a joy to watch. The Back 3 won everything in the Air. I also thought that Kasper played possibly his best game of the season today. Coming for crosses and maintaining his concentration throughout the match, Allowing him the time to deal with snap shots from Southampton. Solid performance all round.
greg5 Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Get in. That's it for me, don't think Hull will get 37 points. We are staying up agree, great stuff this end of season I saw just parts of game at p2p4u but I am pretty sure we can make at least one more point and that should be enough
LanguedocFox Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Brilliant performance all-round, from Schmeichel right through to Ulloa and Vardy - no weak link anywhere. Never looked even close to losing - fvckin love it!
Raw Dykes Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Another simple, straightforward, relaxing, comfortable win. I could get used to this. I don't want to celebrate until we can't possibly be caught, but the table is looking pretty fvcking good at the mo. Only two games left!
fuchsntf Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 It also takes a bit of the sting out of next week's game. If Hull lose at Spurs next week, they're in enormous trouble. Probably spurs losing today, is the nail in the coffin for Hull. WHY... Spurs last game at home, they will be up for it. If Spurs do win , Hull are down.!! City safe no matter what. Hull would need to beat Man.utd by 3-4 goals and city lose twice 2-0 or more. This is a season of twists and turns at the bottom, but cant see foxes letting it slip now. Newcastle anything possible , Papa Cisse might just be their saviour. I said 9pts before the game, I keep to it, city will stay unbeaten. Pearson Doubters...eat your hats, FoD, you should be tarred and feathered with Ostrich plumage, and buried in the sand, head up.,
Blue Ed Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Those thinking Hull are gone don't count on Tottenham and Man U turning up, so many teams are just coasting.
Monsell1976 Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Take my hat off to the players and management, we looked doomed for so long, the turn around has been great. Stick by what I said around Christmas time, Pearson didn't learn very quick, but at least he has learnt before it was to late. Today wasn't pretty for large parts, but they showed their fight and determination to grind out a win, something we didn't do for large parts during the barren runs. Was and huth have been a massive part in the recent run, get them both signed up for next season. Hopefully next season will be more balanced than this season, and let's hope we can become established in the premier league, again well done all involved, including the great supporters that have pushed the lads on.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Those thinking Hull are gone don't count on Tottenham and Man U turning up, so many teams are just coasting. Their problem is that we probably only need to draw both or win one of our remaining games. If we do, they have to win against both Spurs and Man U. Anything other than defeat next week, and it's difficult to see us going down.
Matt Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 ****ing get in there!!!!! Lovely stuff. Was abit gutted and fearing the worst when Sunderland won but we were professional and it didn't bother us. Vardy looks knackered but still played well and kept on running. Everyone played well, not as good as we have but still a good performance. Atmosphere was good, better than it was but not as good as the last 4 or 5 games. Great that Burnley helped us out and still got relegated that makes it even better!
SpacedX Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Pearson Doubters...eat your hats, FoD, you should be tarred and feathered with Ostrich plumage, and buried in the sand, head up., I have been one of his fiercest critics, and although Huth has been the major factor for me if we had employed this system, tactics, selections and strategy and set up to attack instead of the flat back 4 week in week out with Konch and Simpson as FB's - I honestly maintain we'd be top half if not upper quartile right now. So damn frustrating. Nonetheless, take nothing away from the man for turning this round an showing huge positivity, self belief and belief in the fans and players. To be fair would anyone had predicted last December that Nige would have pipped a title winning Jose to MOM?
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 9 May 2015 Posted 9 May 2015 Bloody amazing! Just goes to show what sticking with a manager and side in tough times does, you build character and absolutely smash it when in form! We have the best team spirit and most fight in the PL - forget about Dyche's championship merry men. I'm sad about Jaymo's injury - wish you the best, Matty, but Kingy and Drinks can get us through the last two. Feel confident we can win up at Sunderland and seal the deal!!
