Webbo Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Surely though you'd take him over Lennon and Cotterill? That would be the implication of my post, yes.
Babylon Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Out of all the managers we've been linked with I'm least unenthusiastic about this.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Out of all the managers we've been linked with I'm least unenthusiastic about this. - brought Lampard to Chelsea - knew to bin off Dennis Wise (at our expense) - brought Robert Huth through the academy at Chelsea I'd much rather him than Hiddink, Lennon, Cotterill or Dyche!
Long Eaton Fox Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 If you look at his record on Wikipedia, it's not bad at all. Last club Monaco, he had a very good record but was sacked for finishing 2nd. Greece not so good, but limited resources and you can't buy new players.
Deucalion Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Put £2 on him at 80/1 on Tuesday morning. Not a betting man usually, joined the BetFred site specifically because he was still at 80/1 after saying he was interested in the job. Wish I'd put more on. I would actually be very happy with him as manager. He was managing a club as recently as 2014 and has a stunning win percentage wherever he has been. Apart from Klopp, the best out there for me.

I had a fiver at 66/1 on Monday night I think it was. As soon as he came out saying it would interest him I thought this'll be their man. I reckon it will be him.

Did the exact same thing. Tbh, I think I'd rather have him over Klopp at the minute. Partly because of the Cambiasso link, mostly because he's openly admitted he'd be interested

TheLittleBigMan Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Rather Claudio than Lennon all day long. I am starting to worry we could be in-store for a manager merry go round for a few seasons.
Xen Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 someone posted earlier that esteban didnt have a great time whilst he was boss at inter Hm, missed that. Only saw the post saying that he played the majority of games in the last season they were at the same club

Carl the Llama Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 Honestly I'm at the point where, with the other obvious available targets, I think we should just take a punt on Claudio and hope for the best. We already have a good squad for him to work with which doesn't need a huge amount added to it, and I'm sure Walsh and Shakey have a nice list of potential additions to look at ready for him, so the bulk of the work will have been done already. This makes it easier to be optimistic about him. I made that post thinking it was pretty much a certainty the owners would respond to his come and get me plea, I was pretty resigned to it happening if we're quite honest. 10 minutes later the Preki thread opened... It's been an emotional day.
Wymsey Posted 8 July 2015 Posted 8 July 2015 A pity Claudio has been overlooked, despite seeming interested in coming. Me thinks the owners had someone lined up for a while and are playing the deadly silent game.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 He would be my choice, best of a very very bad bunch
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 July 2015 Posted 9 July 2015 Seems odd they haven't approached him. He ticks all of the supposed boxes, especially when compared with this Preki fella
