Socks Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 worth a look.... http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/248150/leicester-3-2-villa-ft?page=4 scared to death to play us that read to me like they reckon we should be beating us and we are "dog-shite" and just run around with the ball alot and dont play good football
FoxinNotts Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 So.....great start to the season. The only real issue is that we are conceding too many goals. To combat this issue I would like to see us try to solidify the back line somewhat. Yes, this will detract slightly going forward, but if we keep Schlupp, this can be kept to a minimum. I'd go with: 4-2-3-1 Schmeichel Benalouane Huth Morgan Fuchs Kante Drinkwater Vardy Mahrez Schlupp Okazaki Schwazer Delaet inler Albrighton Dyer Kram Ulloa
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Kasper RDL - Huth - Wes - Fuchs Drinky - Kante Dyer - Mahrez - Jeff Ulloa Interesting. Taking a gamble on Ulloa being able to win us more ground holding the ball up (bear in mind he hasn't been a fantastic target man for us) than Vardy being able to gain running the channels. The thought of Dyer and Jeff running the wings though...
glenelgfox Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Anyone who thinks Vardy won't start is delusional. I would go: Shmiechel DaLaet Morgan Huth Schlupp Albrighton Kante Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Ulloa Schwarzer Benoune King Inler Dyer Kramaric Okazaki
foxes21 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 3-4-2-1 Kasper De Laet - Huth - Morgan Albrighton - Drinkwater - Kante - Schlupp Mahrez - Dyer Vardy Give Mahrez and Dyer license to roam.. Is this crazy?!
foxfanazer Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 They really ain't all that. Can see Mahrez having a field day against their defenders. They seem easier to beat nowadays. Usually they'd give Arsenal hell but they folded without too much fight
MC Prussian Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 worth a look.... http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/248150/leicester-3-2-villa-ft?page=4 scared to death to play us Apart from good old Pugsley: It was made 20 minutes into the poorest game I've seen for a long time.Control the ball and control Mahrez and Leicester are there for the taking. Their side is riddled with average footballers who are playing above themselves. Read more: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/248150/leicester-3-2-villa-ft?page=4#ixzz3lhsD588r If we're playing "above ourselves", then what are Stoke doing at second from bottom?
Finnaldo Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 They're not Fort Stoke anymore and that will play to our strengths. A strong (& consistent!) performance throughout and we should be able to beat them.
Finnegan Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Kante and King in. And Kramaric for Ozazaki. I'm so ****ing glad you don't pick the team.
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Schmeichel De Laet Huth Morgan Schlupp Drinkwater Kante Inler Mahrez Dyer Vardy Subs: Schwarzer, Wasyl/Benny, Fuchs, King, Albrighton, Ulloa, Okazaki
kingcarr21 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Might be a rather unpopular choice with a many a FT poster, but I'd switch to a 3-5-2 with Wasilewski, Huth and Morgan as our CB trio, Inler and Kanté in the middle, assisted by Schlupp and Albrighton on the flanks as LWB/RWB, Mahrez in attacking midfield position and Vardy and Okazaki up front. You would drop drinky after that performance We need to hit these on the counter and hit them hard. Kasper De Laet Huth Morgan Schluup Kante Drinkwater Albrighton Mahrez Dyer Vardy That front 4 is blistering pace. Kante to break up play and we can hit them quickly
filbertway Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 If we have another slow start to the game I can't see Stoke being as forgiving to us. Massively important we come out and start well in this game. Take the intensity from the second half against Villa and I'll be happy. They've put together a good side there but for whatever reason, have started the season extremely slowly. Based on current form you'd hope we could take at least a point from them. It won't be an easy game though that's for sure.
Crinklyfox Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 We need to start this game like we finished the last one. No point being slow and cautious just because Stoke have a good team on paper. They'll be a bit short on confidence and the last thing we need to do is to play too careful and give them some (remember Newcastle away last season - we changed our style, lost our way and kick started Newcastle's season in the process).
Simi Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Might be a rather unpopular choice with a many a FT poster, but I'd switch to a 3-5-2 with Wasilewski, Huth and Morgan as our CB trio, Inler and Kanté in the middle, assisted by Schlupp and Albrighton on the flanks as LWB/RWB, Mahrez in attacking midfield position and Vardy and Okazaki up front. I would go with a 3-5-2 myself but the thought of dropping Drinkwater after the game yesterday is just unthinkable. He was on it.
Wymsey Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Got a ticket, but right in the middle of Stoke fans. Going be hard, if we play well...
EnglishOxide Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 -------------Kasper--------- RDL-------Wes------Huth------Jeff Albrighton--Kante--Drinky---Mahrez ----------Vardy---Kramaric-------- I agree with the poster who said Kramaric would be good against Stoke. Can just see him showing good agility in the final third to cause their centre backs problems. Its time he got a start, Shinji hasn't looked as impressive as his first couple of games.
Captain... Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 First off Afellay is suspended, but they have Shakiri, Bojan and Arnautovic, so they have replacements. More importantly they have Charlie Adam suspended, he is the heart of their team and dictates the play Van Ginkel and Whelan will not be as strong without Adam. They have some mercurial talents, the aforementioned 3 can all cause some serious problems, but are also a bit flaky and can drift out of the game, this is why Kante will be crucial and I would be tempted to give him license to hunt the ball down and play a 433 with Kante, Inler and Drinkwater in the middle breaking down their play and covering the full backs when they go forwards and then have Dyer, Vardy and Mahrez as the front 3 and just go all out counter attack. I understand the calls for Ulloa for a physical presence, but if we keep the ball on the deck then their centre backs will have a torrid time. The risk is that we don't get enough of the ball and try and counter too quickly and lose the ball start chasing shadows and come under a lot of pressure.
Babylon Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 And so... the nonsensical Kramaric love in continues.
Callabinho Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Technically a very good side, still finding their way this season after a few additions. However as good as they are they severely lack pace in midfield and at the back, if we play our "counter attacking" game right we will get something.
foxes21 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 3-4-2-1 Kasper De Laet - Huth - Morgan Albrighton - Drinkwater - Kante - Schlupp Mahrez - Dyer Vardy Give Mahrez and Dyer license to roam.. Is this crazy?! Nobody like this team then?
Number 6 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Schmeichel De Laet Huth Morgan Schlupp Mahrez Drinkwater Kanté Albrighton Ulloa Vardy Subs: Schwazer, Wasilewski, Okazaki, Dyer, Inler, Fuchs, King Think Vardy and Okazaki are just too similar up top. We need someone up there who is a goalscorer and that, for me, is Ulloa. Would also like to see some defenders on the bench! Think it'll be a very tough game.
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Schmeichel De Laet Huth Morgan Schlupp Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Mahrez Dyer Vardy Schwarzer, Kramaric, Ulloa, Was, King, Inler, Okazaki This looks a very good side to me. I think it may be a draw on Saturday 1-1
Carl the Llama Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Heart wants: Kasper Was - Wes - Huth Albrighton - Kanté - Drinkwater - Schlupp Mahrez Vardy - Ulloa Head reckons: Kasper De Laet - Wes - Huth - Schlupp Drinkwater - Kanté Albrighton - Mahrez - Dyer Vardy And yes it was very tricky deciding Dyer was going to be the player sacrificed for the 3-5-2, keep him for his versatility off the bench though cause he can fill in on either side I believe.
Father Ted Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Would be tempted to pair Vardy up with Ulloa as playing Vardy up front on his own would leave him isolated. Agree with the concensus that Kante should start and if it was a 3 in the middle, I'd have King over Inler. Can see the Tinkerman tinkering here.
