fuchsntf Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 This game wont be won at the front, I believe. The forwards on both sides, will do whst they have done all season. Its going to be the team, that turns up in defence, from central midfield to across the backline. No I dont believe we change because of my opinion, its more or less, the coaches and back 6 players tightening up as a group, concentration and discipline , stay on your feet key words, maybe stand off your man, and run with your man, commiting less.Midfield or Okazaki, doing the commited tackles, Drinkwater then picking up the loose ball. Maybe it sounds simple, but this game perhaps more than Arsenal, we need the defence to give a top performance. If inler had found his form, he would be my sweeper for the day, he hasnt, so Claudio do your magic. MY triangle of CP, Foxes, W.Ham, we beat the hammers, Hammers last week beat CP. If city can now turn over the Palace, that would put us in a great situation after 10 games, knowing we can mix it with in form Top 8 PL teams.Gayle missing is not an advantage, like us now, they have a top group of 15-16 players.
ARM1968 Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Like I said. Must win. A game we can win. We always seem at odds against Palace and I like them a lot, just as I like West Ham this season. It's refreshing to see the 'smaller' teams filling bigger shoes. However if our progress is as great as it seems then we have to win this. Form is solid. Spirit is solid. Fitness top 3. We must win this.

Two teams doing well and I think it will all boil down to home advantage and us doing our bit as the 12th man. Home win.

Countryfox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Hope that we're not getting complacent. On and off the pitch. Nope . We are a top 5 team and we are there on merit. Confidence and belief in our team and not complacency.
Aus Fox Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Lawro unsurprisingly has us down for a 2-1 defeat. I think if we can get out of the blocks early like against west ham and Sunderland we can get on top and win the game. There will be a penalty in this game one way or the other, combining the amour of penalties both teams get this season with the lovely match official almost gaurentees it. About time one of our centre mids put the ball in the back of the net. Huge game for our full backs, they could be the difference here a good game and we could keep them quiet. Going for 2-0 city and pizza all around. Drinky and Mahrez on the scoresheet.

Guest ttfn Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Think we'd be in the bottom 3 if Lawro's predictions had been correct this season. Clearly not convinced by us. We'd be 14th. West Ham would be 18th.
crisp packet Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 12th man key! Let's get the kp rocking... Play our game well be fine.
lgfualol Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Think we'll draw. Wouldnt surprise me if they Leicestered us and won. 2-2.I have a feeling one of Drinkwaters many long shot attempts per game will finally go in on Saturday. Vardy with another too. Also hope Mahrez doesn't start on the wing. Our fullback would get absolutely dicked all game if so. They have that Kelly fellow in defence that we can exploit, think he is kinda slow.
Foxhateram Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 I take it you were in a coma for the Sunderland, West Ham and Arsenal games. Even Stoke, Southampton and Norwich were games we made a positive start in. Worth noting as well that we've played 4 of our last 6 matches away from home and one of the home games was arsenal. Rightly or wrongly teams are almost invariably set up to defend first and foremost. That you'd find reason to criticise the tactical approach of a manager who's taken us to 5th after 9 games says more about your barmy expectations than it does about any tactical failing on Ranieri's part. Oh come off it. So just because we're 5th we are without faults? Growth mindset requires you to continue to learn and improve. Ranieri has made plenty of mistakes tactically this season and without such faults we might not of had to chase games. The Bournemouth game was a typical example of that. We have gifted 2 goal leads to 3 teams this season now. If we played the second half performance from those games from the start we would have even more points now. How is that even debatable? Not to mention his refusal to use the formation we successfully ended last season with, which had us scoring goals and conceding few. Don't get me wrong I like the job he has done, but I don't get the whole argument that Ranieri is a great tactician? Are people not seeing the first half performances? As for your attacking intent point, yes we started brightly but then when the goal doesn't come we get nervy and back off. Game after game, until there is no pressure when suddenly we are all over the opposition.
Foxhateram Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Also Claudio isn't NP don't forget Will you change the record! I am not a Pearsonite at all. I respect nige and everything he did for our club but I was first to point out when he had it wrong. I stand by the fact he shouldn't have been sacked but I have supported Claudio. Admittedly I was sceptical and tbh I still am. I feel we are riding a wave of form from last season still. It is when that bubble bursts he will prove his worth. But equally I have praised him where credit is due. And just like I did with nige i have criticised when an issue has arisen. So quit with these types of irritating comments everytime I question a decision.
st albans fox Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Fwiw, and this thread isn't the place, I think Claudio has his plans bit whilst the momentum is there, he'll stick with what we're doing. you'll see players like Inler and benny when the bubble burst. our style will change accordingly. we can still go back.
suffolk fox Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 I genuinely believe this season this team of ours is going places. Palace should be more fearful of us than we are of them. My main concern is they are a dirty team and I fear they may try and kick lumps out of our key men i.e. Vardy, Kante, Albrighton, Mahrez and Dyer. We do though have nothing to fear here and we are at home. We can't keep a clean sheet but I believe we will win this 3 1.

No, you stand by your opinion (based on the absolutely nothing factual) that he shouldn't have been sacked. You do come over as someone who can't get over that sacking, that or the most miserable bugger on the board, the rest of us are enjoying all that is happening at te moment.

I think the massive positive we can take from Ranieri though is that when he does make a tactical mistake, he amends them that very same game and more often than not salvages something/wins it. I don't think many managers would be happy with letting a goal in every single game and he is (rightly) trying to do something about it. He's still new to the squad and so we should forgive him the odd poor performance/tactical decision.
Suffolk exile Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Really going to be a difficult match, but one we should be winning. I like the way Palace are set and have some really good players, I am just hoping the '12th man effect' will be the difference.

Guest LCFC_World Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Kasper RDL--Huth--Morgan--Fuchs Kante--Drinky Albrighton--Mahrez--Dyer Vardy Pace up front, Mahrez playing in his best position, Albrighton back on the right and Dyer or Schlupp could play. If we need another striker, we could take of a CM and revert to a diamond.
Saxondale Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 This will be a tough game because Palace are actually very good. Loads of goals in it I suspect. Need Kante to keep their French bloke quiet in MF.
surrifox Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 Claudio to do a NP and strangle one of their players

CosbehFox Posted 23 October 2015 Posted 23 October 2015 This is a test to see if we have a good season. Palace are pretty bogey, beat them and it's one of those chinks of light we are on for a corker of a season. Be warned all - Tigers kick off at home, 6 this Saturday
