Soar Fox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I hope they are going to investigate Coquelin's assault on Mahrez.
ScouseFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 if martin atkinson says he saw it and thought nothing of it then a) we can't get punished and b) he shouldn't ever be allowed on a football pitch again. yet again that shows everything that is wrong with these cvnts of referees who can't just admit they were wrong. people always say "oh they're human they get things wrong, we all get things wrong". yeah true. but if I got something disastrously wrong ON LIVE TV I think I'd admit to it. what a cvnt.
Captain... Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 http://dailycannon.com/2016/02/referee-admits-seeing-drinkwater-horror-tackle-deemed-unworthy-of-further-action/? Anyone got a video of it as I don't remember seeing it. The still on that page looks so much worse than the tackle was, a very biased Gooner point of view, but not surprising as their players spent most of the game trying to get us booked, not surprising the fans are trying to do the same after the game.
Captain... Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Video here: https://streamable.com/7w9e Looks very bad when slowed down, but when you see it at full speed though it happens so quick and was just mis-timed, no malice in it, going for the ball at full stretch, couldn't complain at a booking, but not a red.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's high, but he's at the ball well before Ramsey and wins it. It's no more than that tackle on Kante in the build up to the penalty where the sole intention seemed to be to take his legs rather than the ball. Obviously the ref dealt with that but it's insulting to see so many Arsenal fans coming out saying Drinkwater was intentionally trying to hurt Ramsey.
Benji Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's a bad tackle. Drinkwater has apologised, that tells you all you need to know.
lgfualol Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Shit tackle but he wont get in trouble. Arsenal fans make a huge deal about it whenever one of their players fall over, wont hear them complaining about Kosielny nearly killing Kanté though.
Babylon Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's a bad tackle. Drinkwater has apologised, that tells you all you need to know. I'm not sure it does at all, we all know it's not a nice tackle... but him saying sorry doesn't instantly mean it's a red card. If they were going straight at each other, 100% it's a red. But they were sort of coming in at 90 degree angles and Ramsey actually comes across the line of the tackle. There was another angle from behind Drinkwater, that showed Ramsey coming across him, rather than him going at Ramsey. Bad tackle yes, but that line of tackle would hold me back from saying 100% red. If it was the other way around I'd probably have a different view, granted.
Fox92 Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's a bad tackle. Drinkwater has apologised, that tells you all you need to know. Exactly right.
RowlattsFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 I think it looks worse than is, he's gone to kick the ball but has not made a clear contact and his follow through has caught Ramsey high. Its probably a red.
les-tah Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 bad tackle, no further action based on drinkys record and intent. Plus you can actually see him swing for the ball and miss it when its slowed down!
ScouseFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 as someone else said, if coquelin/monreal etc does that to riyad we want him banned until next season at least.
foxfanazer Posted 15 February 2016 Author Posted 15 February 2016 Hope he doesn't get a ban. Was worthy of a red no doubt
ScouseFox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Hope he doesn't get a ban. Was worthy of a red no doubt as said above, if the referee claims he saw it and dealt with it (by not even giving a free kick ) then no retrospective punishment can be handed out. luckily for us the referees are too big headed and cvnty to admit they didn't see something or got it wrong so the FA can't punish him.

If it was the other way around I'd probably have a different view, granted. I guess by "says all you need to know" was more about it being a bad tackle rather than a red card. For what it's worth I do think it's a red, but it's touch and go. He's a little unlucky because his foot bounces up off the top of the ball, but then to hit the top of the ball his foot has to be coming in high. It's not intentional but it's a poor challenge, and I think it's probably a red.
deep blue Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's high, but he's at the ball well before Ramsey and wins it. Obviously the ref dealt with that but it's insulting to see so many Arsenal fans coming out saying Drinkwater was intentionally trying to hurt Ramsey. The tackle on Kante should have got a straight red - launched from 2 yards away with no other intention but to hit and hurt our man, and could easily have badly damaged his shin. Looking at Danny's tackle live (I haven't yet managed to study it at length) it came across to me as a genuine and successful attempt to play the ball, and he reached it well in front of their man. OK, a little careless being 2-footed so there was some follow-through, but no likelihood of injuring the player and totally different from the one on Kante.
TJB-fox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 According to those pathetic whinging Gunners (players and fans) you're not allowed to tackle Aaron Ramsey ever, because he once broke his leg. Bad tackle yeah get over it, some of the challenges I've Seen on Riyad and Jamie this season were not dragging it on
Richmondfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 It's a bad tackle. Drinkwater has apologised, that tells you all you need to know. Bad as in not clean, not bad as in dirty. Ramsey should be pulled up for play acting and simulation then as he clearly wasn't injured.
sphericalfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If anyone needs pulling up, it's Waz. He tried to decapitate Chambers with his elbow.
TJB-fox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 **** Arsenal and their pathetic attitudes and diving
Vestan Pance Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Just waiting for Ramsey to apologise for attempting to get Drinkwater sent off with his rolling around faking injury, won't hold my breath.
Koke Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 Flamini got away with a shocking two footer against Bournemouth last week. But typical Arsenal fans have wiped that off their memory.
Richmondfox Posted 15 February 2016 Posted 15 February 2016 If anyone needs pulling up, it's Waz. He tried to decapitate Chambers with his elbow. We'll leave that task to you then?
foxes21 Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 We'll win the league and Drinkwater, Vardy and Albrighton will miss out on the Euros to Mason, Welbeck (1 game played) and Lingard. One thing I would say about England... Drinkwater & Vardy do not fit their style of play. Sturridge & Welbeck have been back 5 minutes and the media are saying Vardy's place at the euros could be under threat. Legit, for the Euros England should be building a team around using Vardy's pace on the counter with Kane just behind him. Anyway, England like many clubs in the premier league believe they have to play a 'specific' way. Which is possession football. Drinkwater's positive driving runs from midfield, direct balls and wanting to create chances at every opportunity is bipolar to the boring style England play. Look at our win at Spurs.. Their fans were going mental, pulling out their 70% possession stats. How many saves did Kasper have to make? About 40% of that possession was side ways passes between their center backs and Dier, which is completely the opposite to how Drinkwater plays. No, Danny will get the ball and the first thing he wants to do is play it forward. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't, and when it doesn't England will bemoan at losing possession so easily, but are happy to pass it sideways all game. England are shit, plain & simple. They, like so many teams in the Premier League are trying to play a style that is starting to become out-dated. That is why we have flourished this season, our high pressing and counter attacking style has wiped the floor with these muck possession teams. England's arrogance to change will again be their downfall. It's their loss not Drinkwater's if he's not in the starting 11 let alone the squad.
