Leicesterpool Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Of course with all the speculation with Vardy and Mahrez leaving in this coming window, what about if it was organised about like when MON was going to leave about twenty years ago. Holding up banners which say "Please Don't Go Vardy & Mahrez"
Finnaldo Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 No. There's been an interview or quote on a weekly basis from either of them saying they definitely aren't going in January. Therefore there's absolutely no need.
ranieri99 Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 It's like the equivalent of you going over to a ligue 2 French club, getting promoted earning 35k a week, and then being offered 100k a week at a bigger club. Do you really think fans holding up signs saying don't go would make you want to lose out on 3 times the money. He is a professional footballer. He isn't a Leicester city supporter.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 I think there's very little chance either will leave in the January window - imagine having "Won the PL title with Leicester City FC" on your CV. That will get you any job you'd ever want
Captain... Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 No. There's been an interview or quote on a weekly basis from either of them saying they definitely aren't going in January. Therefore there's absolutely no need. This ^ If things change and it seems like they are considering it, or we have accepted a bid off £50m and they are weighing up the options, then we can try, but at the moment they have said they are staying, Ranieri has said we aren't selling, the rest is just speculation to ignore.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Every player wants a crack at champions league football, here they've got a good chance of that happening, will always make the starting line up and are at a club they have helped build and are part of, get paid a lot of money and are probably set for life. Why cash all that in to be just another face in a sea of stars (mercenaries) at a bigger club and still not be guaranteed to win anything.

We can afford to pay it, no need to move.
fleckneymike Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 If we get champions league football they 'might' stay. If we don't then quite rightly they'll be off to a club who do. We've overachieved so much that what we suspected we knew about the quality of Mahrez has been broadcast into every home, managers office and football gossip column writers desk around the globe. Our success has narrowed down his list of potential suitors which in turn has made it increasingly difficult to keep him.
m4DD0gg Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 ... because it worked so well for MON.. it did at that particular time as that was when leeds came sniffing
lgfualol Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 It would make the rest of the team feel left out and therefore affect team spirit and form leading to relegation. Besides, they're both half way through the best seasons on their career so why go when there is still half to go.
Sampson Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 it did at that particular time as that was when leeds came sniffing As much as some Leicester fans like to mis-remember that MON stayed because of those banners. They didn't do anything. Leeds pulled out on the deal not MON. I think he would've gone had he been offered the Leeds job in all likelihood.

BoyJones Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Personally thought the Don't Go Martin! signs were a bit naff. The players know what we think of them, can't see them going this January. Too much positivity around the club at the moment, which I am sure they want to be a part of.
STUHILL Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Neither will go in January. I think Vardy will probably stay in the summer too but Mahrez will go if we aren't top 4 and even if we are, I wouldn't begrudge him a big move. Deserves to be playing at the highest level If he does go, we would be making a huge profit on him (40million maybe?) Would prefer to keep him of course but that would soften the blow a little
kingfox Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Trust Leicesterpool to come up with a shit idea like this.

Matt Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 This isn't even an issue, people are trying to make it an issue, and failing. Mahrez, maybe in the summer might leave (certainly not in January) but I really do doubt it, it depends where we finish but I simply can't see it.
foxinsocks Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 we will be in Europe next year... nowhere better in UK.... sure mahrez will have grown up watching Spanish football..so we will have to make him understand.... - it's the agents that are the problem - once players start bouncing around the top clubs they never make the mark they would by sticking by a club
MooseBreath Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 If we get champions league I would expect Vardy to stay and maybe Mahrez. If we don't get champions league then Vardy's goals will have probably dried up so interest from elite clubs will most likely cool anyway, and likewise with Mahrez. Either way I think Vardy will be here next season, and Mahrez is a maybe. It's certainly way too early for banners considering no offers have been made and they're both under contract so don't have any choice but to stay if that's what the club wants.
Gerard Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 Both the owners and Ranieri have stated that neither goes in January regardless of the offer. I for one believe that's the end of it, nothing more to discuss here.
