Vardy is quintessential to our current run of great results, plus he's signed a contract up until 2018. I can't see us selling, not in January/February anyway.
Vicki Vixen Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Got to look at this from the player's perspective too. This could be his one opportunity to play for a world class side (I'd like to think we are in that category but we are not there yet) and also to bring in some serious money. Of course I want him to stay, but can see him pushing for a move if a big offer comes in.
Legend fox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 This is not going to happen. Vardy won't go to a club in the bottom half of the table that have slim to no chance of getting champions league let alone winning it. It would make no sense. And man city. I don't think Vardy is the type of player to take the money ruin his chance of playing for England and to become a bit part player. He has worked his socks off and is loved by us fans and all at the club. (Something that won't happen at man city as he won't get the chance because of Aguero) Not going anywhere

RowlattsFox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 I don't think they have any intention of bidding for him, it's either an attempt to unsettle to derail our season or his agent plugging a new contract. Mahrez on the other hand I'm worried about.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 On current form he would get in any side which plays a counter attacking game. The problem is that everyone has a dip in form at some point, and then he wouldn't get the chance to play himself back into form at a huge club with 3 or 4 top class strikers and that will be the end.
Richmondfox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/12065372/Chelsea-may-face-Manchester-City-challenge-in-bid-to-buy-Jamie-Vardy-from-Leicester.html Worrying that the Telegrapgh think Chelsea are serious. Not worrying at all. Have you never read transfer speculation before as that's all it is. It's all in the wording, this report is vague at best. It's always such and such believe or sources close to the club, we understand etc.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 He won't be aloud to leave. Simple. He'll go quietly?
Richmondfox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 He won't be aloud to leave. Simple. This, the club hold all the cards on both Vardy and Mahrez, long term contracts offering first team football at a club on an upwards trajectory. They both get paid well and are cared for, better deals will come to both at the end of the season. No one will pay silly money for Vardy that we would need to replace him, if he was ever to have his head turned and act up he can sit and rot in the reserves for the next two seasons. West Brom and Berahino have shown that if you don't hold the cards and try to force a move without the knowledge/consent of your club you'll waste a year of your career. Vardy will see out his career here and then go to the MLS for the bumper payday. Mahrez will be here next season and make a name in europe then go for Suarez money.
Fox92 Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Nah, can't see it happening. Vardy needs us just as much as we need him. It's the perfect fit for him here and there's no way we'd be able to replace him (because he gives everything).
Gerard Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Non story, they're not going anywhere in January.
ScouseFox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 top of the league, top scorer, guaranteed to start every week and our whole team is basically built around him and his style of play. forced himself into the england squad for a major championship. yeah he's gonna leave all that to sit on the bench for a team who're bottom half, a manager who's probably never heard of him and a squad who wouldn't respect him like ours do.
J.Lisemore Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Its all pointless discussion really, neither of them are going. Not that the media will give up though, this will be dragged on through January.
dylanlegend Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Ok Vardy could make a quick buck moving to a Chelsea for example. But..... Imagine if he stays at Leicester... Win the league or even get in champs league, he could live off that for the rest of his life... The films, the books, media attention etc. Stay put Jamie you're a LCFC legend and we love ya
ithuriel Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 If we win the league, well, they were talking about making a movie about him but it would be a big Hollywood thing since it would tick every box. Mahrez and Vardy coming from no where, a record breaking run, a seemingly washed up genial manager, a team that pulled off a miraculous escape from relegation the year before but was mired in controversy due to a sex tape and managerial sacking. If he were to leave and fail elsewhere, fading into obscurity, he could pretty much kiss that goodbye.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 Close thread Vards isn't going anywhere soon!!
VLC86 Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 He 100% won't be going anywhere. That's the spirit, if he wants to leave let's kidnap him.
st albans fox Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 At the end of the chelsea game, as he came off the pitch and towards the tunnel, , he stopped and looked up at top and vichai. The three shared a very emmotional exchange of gesticulations. Having seen the obvious relationship between them, I can't believe that JV would ask to leave and that the owners would allow it to happen.
Wymsey Posted 23 December 2015 Posted 23 December 2015 It'd be quite silly of him moving, considering he's at his prime. There haven't been many top players that have shown immediately after signing for a new club, especially in this league (apart from Rooney, Drogba and a few others).
