foxinsox Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 been back for ages but wasn't on the prem list before January, would expect he was added in January as cover He was Goalkeeper on Friday for LCFC under 21s. We lost 3 nil to Spurs...
WesMorganGod Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 He looked in pain at the end, but the good news is we have a 2 weeks break now, so hope that will be enough time for him to recover. Well done Kasper, good game today from you.
Charl91 Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Was brilliant today. Had a very solid season. I used to be slightly critical of him, but I think he's improved massively, especially in terms of coming for crosses. Collected/cleared loads t'day.
Sampson Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Agreed! Was a bit critical of him earlier in the season, but he's really hit form recently, right at the best time! Was immense today, took off a lot pressure from the defence and made a couple of crucial saves!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Been fantastic all season... one of the best keepers around in my view
shen Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Weak competition, only Eriksen would run him close. Deserved, also on the basis of his performances for the national team which has been one of the very few bright spors this year. Eriksen routinely underachieves for Denmark by comparison.
Soar Fox Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Kasper along with everyone else was brilliant on Saturday. Made 2 very good saves when he punched the ball away, his dristubtion to Mahrez late in the game (I think) was fantastic practically a daisy cutter from a goal kick. Then deep into stoppage time came out and collected a corner which took the pressure away.

I was listening to the football forum tonight and I'm sure Matt Elliott said Kasper left it as he knew it wasn't going in
Vardinio'sCat Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Its funny how KS looks like a much better keeper since we started defending properly!
J.Lisemore Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Anybody remember Simon Grayson blaming Schmeichel for Leeds having such a terrible defensive record?
MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 So, now I've split up the kicker statements from his dad Peter that I previously posted in the "Do they mean us?" thread. Here's what Schmeichel senior has to say about his son: "We're getting along nicely and are of the opinion that we shouldn't compare ourselves with one another. I don't do that. It's great people appreciate Kasper for his own achievements and don't recognize him as my son. I don't tend to criticize him often and I'm a bit biased when it comes to the team. But I'm still his father and the family is worth more than any other thing." "He's made a tremendous step forward. He doesn't come up with errors. His teammates can rely on him. When things start to heat up, he can still make amends with fast reflexes and by parrying shots. The other ten on the pitch need to know what their goalkeeper's up to and what they have to do to assist him. He oozes confidence and reliability." "I have absolutely no ambitions as to what his future career is concerned. I just want him to do good. I always longed for success, but I wanted happiness the most. No matter where Kasper ends up, I'll be proud. He can end up at Liverpool for all I care (laughs). This is not about my expectations, but about what he wants. He's got his agents that he consults in terms of career choice and he's got the club's goalkeeping assistants to help him improve his game. I'll always be his dad."
SlaneyLCFC Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Denmark's player of the year. just seen this. Fantastic for him !
davieG Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen and Leicester City's Kasper Schmeichel have been texting each other about who will drop points in the Barclays Premier League title race. Leicester are five points clear at the top of the table but followed by Tottenham, and it looks to have turned into a two-horse race with Arsenal lagging behind in third. Eriksen and Schmeichel are Denmark team-mates and the pair have been exchanging messages ahead of the international break, trying to guess who will slip up first. +4 Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen has spoken about how he is competing with his Denmark team-mate +4 Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel (pictured) and Eriksen have been speaking about the title +4 Denmark face Iceland and Scotland in their upcoming friendlies and Eriksen told his country's BT: 'That only makes it more fun when we meet in with the national team. 'We have also sent some messages to each other about losing points soon.' Schmeichel was named Denmark's player of the year on Monday night and his dad Peter, the former Manchester United goalkeeper, wrote about the achievement on Twitter. 'I'm nothing but a proud dad tonight. @kschmeichel1 has just been voted Player of the year in Denmark,' he wrote. By winning the award, Schmeichel broke Eriksen's three-year stranglehold on the title. He starred in Leicester's win at Crystal Palace on Saturday that saw them move eight points clear, but that was cut to five by Tottenham's 3-0 victory over Bournemouth the following day. Despite challenging to be crowned champions, Eriksen insists Spurs still just want to qualify for the Champions League next season, and that anything more would be a bonus. 'We still have the same starting point as before the season,' the 24-year-old said. 'We would like to end higher than last season and get into the top four, we would first like to be in the Champions League. Peter Schmeichel wrote about his son winning Denmark's player of the year award on Monday night +4 Eriksen (left) and Kevin Wimmer (centre) applaud the crowd at White Hart Lane after their recent win 'Of course, anything but a fourth place would be a bonus.' Tottenham can reduce the gap to two points when they get back to action in the Premier League on Saturday, April 2, as they make a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool. Leicester return to face Southampton at the King Power Stadium the day after. TJB-fox Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 Definitely a better goalkeeper than many on here like to make out.
Gerard Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 They have the wrong Steve Walsh but his view is that Kasper is the best goalkeeper in the league. Go to the 4:00min mark. http://talksport.com/football/leicester-super-scout-steve-walsh-tells-talksport-kasper-schmeichel-best-goalkeeper-premier
filbertway Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 They have the wrong Steve Walsh but his view is that Kasper is the best goalkeeper in the league. Go to the 4:00min mark. http://talksport.com/football/leicester-super-scout-steve-walsh-tells-talksport-kasper-schmeichel-best-goalkeeper-premier I don't think the knowledgable Steve Walsh would say that. I feel like he's improved no end this season, much like Wes. There's 6 or 6 keepers in this league that I'd have as number one before Kasper though. (Courtois, De Gea, Lloris, Butland, Hart, Forster). Massively impressed with him though and he's played his role as much as any other player in putting this team at the top of the league.
Corky Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 He's worked hard to get here. Despite having a famous father in the game he's spent loan spells at smaller clubs like Darlington, Falkirk and Coventry, spent a year in League Two at Notts County before coming here and getting regular football at a decent level. Certainly not too arrogant to drop down to get to the top.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 23 March 2016 Posted 23 March 2016 I personally like Kasper, in terms of both a keeper and his attitude. I've been impressed with some of his saves this season, he's made some key stops to prevent us from conceding at times. As well as being a good keeper, it helps him that he's got a great back four in front of him, defending superbly.
