Ruth's defending was suicidal, Mahrez looks like he's run from Leicester to Birmingham before the game's begun. But...we are top!!! Pray for a Stoke victory and a celebratory weekend for them before turning up at our place, which will be very tough indeed.

Looked sapped of energy, couldn't string a pass together, nothing much going forward, Mahrez was poor but so was everybody else. Could conceivably lost that game on Penalty decisions alone and to top it off, Villa are so ****ing terrible it's unreal.

Making an OTT comment, but i'm sickened by that, disgusting drawing with Villa, and Villa were much better than us in the 2nd half, pathetic. Whilst I don't like singleing players out when they are poor I will, I always have, Mahrez needs a game or two's rest, he wasn't as bad as he was against Bournemouth but he was poor, and he needs to sort his penalities out, he has to take most of the blame for today. But i've adopted the 'on to the next one' mentality when winning, so it's still the same when (nearly put losing then!) we draw, on to the next one, hopefully we perform.

Two missed penalties within the space of fourteen days and he's developing signs of a diva. I don't like this kind of attitude, it's verging on the brink of nonchalance. All in all, it was a very, very poor game that was ours for the taking and we let it slip away. Referee was highly erratic, but that shouldn't divert from the fact that we were very bad and couldn't string two passes together. If Ranieri wants a reaction, he better start giving today's starting XI a good talking to. Huth could've been sent off twice, Ulloa a waste of space up front, no impetus from midfield (apart from Drinkwater, I thought). We were overrun and for most part, couldn't find the way out of our own half.

dylanlegend Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Knew it would be tight, seem to carry on being long ball / defensive even against teams like Villa. Vardy and Mahrez low on confidence. I think we need to rotate our full backs when playing poorer teams to allow us to be more attacking

Thought Huth and Mahrez both had their worst performances in Leicester shirts today. Thought Claudio got it wrong for the first time today, seemed to want to settle for a 1-0 rather than going for a second and we payed for it. Mahrez may have missed the penalty and played poorly but he has won us more points than he's cost us this season. Referee had a nightmare too, think Villa should have finished the game with 9 men. But we're top of the league, so heads up!

dorsetboy Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 since xmas weve been below par , there does not seem to be the aggressive play and pressure we were doing pre xmas ? has claudio now said look dont waste to much energy chasing dead end balls i dont know as for mahrez hes not looked the same since the transfer window opened . has claudio told him hes going nowhere when he actually wanted to move and he is throwing his toys out of the pram as hes looked very uninterested the last 4 or 5 games ? its stupid ive sat watching us play in league 1 not long back and yet now i feel dissapointed that we are only one point clear at the top of the prem

It looked like the players felt all along we'd win, we relied on the ref giving us biased, we never really got into our stride. If the boot was on the other foot we'd be ****ing thrilled, 'they didn't take us seriously' etc.

These painfully negative tactics which rely on a solid defence, set-pieces and huge dollops of luck to get us points simply has to stop. Couldn't give a shit where we are in the league right now, play like that for much longer and we're ****ed. It's no wonder the vast majority of the country see's us bombing down the league at the any moment with displays like that.
