Nalis Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Gotta feel for Besiktas, they knew a win would put them through to the last 16 and they are losing 6-0 against the bottom team in the group. And down to 9 men.

This is about diluting our chances of running into Bayern or Real and a lesser extent Sevilla. I think all 3 of those options are scarier than PSG. Paris are a big name, but they haven't been as good this year with struggling to fit into a new system while also 3 points off a 3 way title race in france. They'll likely have distractions come February. Leverkusen and Benfica/Napoli will be there regardless. WIth PSG diluting the group, I think we have a 50% chance of a decent draw as opposed to the 40%. Ah, delusion... At this rate and looking at our league form and the Copenhagen away game which was poor, I see our chance of progressing at 1%, and that's me being optimistic. Depending on the outcome in the Porto match, that percentage could even come further down and approach 0. If we should actually win tomorrow, I'd have a little bit more hope, but even then, at no point are we a realistic contender of getting past any of the names you mention.
StanSP Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 So after today, it's confirmed we could get PSG, Bayern, Benfica. And tomorrow added to that it'll be Leverkusen, Juve, Sevilla or Lyon. Dortmund or Real.
Livid Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Looking at tonight's groups Benfica would be the one where we could have the slightest of chances. PSG or Bayern and we're screwed.
crazyleicester Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 So I think these 4 are potential opponents PSG, Benfica, Bayern, Leverkusen, Whilst Real Madrid or Dortmund have a shoot out to see who ends up 2nd and Lyon, Seville or Juve do battle. It may end up PSG, Benfica, Bayern, Leverkusen, Dortmund and Seville. They must all be shitting themselves.

Totally agree, afraid we have no hope. Pains me to say it, but Arsenal were light years ahead of us tonight

Koke Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Looking forward to losing 7-0 on aggregate to PSG.
tickler28 Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Win our group and draw Real, Bayern or PSG.....jeeze that's some reward. To be fair though.....weve gotta go out at some stage and to win it you have to beat the best Europe has to offer and we are far from that!! Every second place team will be praying they draw us....underdog tag again...suited us last year didn't it??

Pains me to say it, but Arsenal were light years ahead of us tonight They didnt manage to beat us this season though did they! KO football is not always about the best team winning but it may go down to bottle, luck, ref decisions etc. For us, if we turn up and play to our full potential we can give a few sides a game. The likes of PSG are really struggling for example. I know they have class players but the manager is getting it in the neck, they got beat by Montpellier the other day and all is not rosey. Leverkusen arent playing well, lost 6 won 5 in the league. Portuguese football is quite weak at the moment and Benfica are hardly world beaters. Looking at their squad they have the likes of Mitroglou playing up front for them. Looking down their team sheet it doesnt look that scary. OK there are some sides in there that could rip us apart if we are on an off day but lets stay positive, hope for a decent draw and pray our top boys like Vardy, DD and Mahrez are flying and anything can happen.
Corky Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 We really need to get plenty of points before the next round and go into it in some sort of form and comfort in the league because Ranieri could face an unwanted dilemma.
