Lord Kante Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I spent £200 on Vardy home kits, he better not leave
chapero82 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Looking through this guys tweets this is what he said at 13.30 yesterday then claimed he knew all along
Ashley Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Arsenal actually haven't made a bid(as of yet). 'Sky sources' say they would be interested in speaking to Leicester about his services? Who wouldn't be interested in his services? Come on.. We laughed off the West Ham 'bid' the other week which was in the region of £24 million. So if there was a release clause why didn't West Ham bid '£20 million'?
Fox92 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Will be gutted if he leaves and he is irreplaceable. Nobody can do the job he does. It depends what he wants. He's loved here and will play every game. He won't play every game at Arsenal. But then again he's probably got more chance of winning trophies at Arsenal. But then again it's typical Foxestalk jumping to conclusions. No indication Arsenal have actually bid. These "Sky Sources" are the same sources that told us Pearson was sacked in Feb 2015. One person writes something on social media and suddenly everyone believes it.
Koke Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Will lose a lot of love for the game if this happens. Only a few weeks ago he said he wasn't going anywhere! Seemed more passionate about staying than anyone else, some things not quite right and hope he regrets it if he does leave. Christ You do realise players have left title winning teams before. For the benefit of your health stop believing that footballers love the clubs they play for. Vardy is not a Leicester fan. He's only played for us for 4 years. Not his entire career. Players and managers spout utter garbage every day . Don't believe a word they say. I love Ranieri but I still don't believe anything he says until it's evident. Because he's a football manager.
The Guvnor Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Isn't this all just rumour and conjecture, come on we know from experience it only takes one clown to claim to be ITK
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Problem is if we are paying him £60,000 a week and Arsenal are offering £140,000 then you can't blame him for showing interest and taking it seriously, I just hope the club are doing everything they can to offer him the same
Babylon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Looking through this guys tweets this is what he said at 13.30 yesterday then claimed he knew all along https://twitter.com/afcamden/status/738711426919960576 He's full of it, same as John Cross who started spouting loads of stuff yesterday. If they knew something before they would have said, no reason to keep story quiet until someone else gets the exclusive. It probably will happen, but I certainly wouldn't be listening to them.
Tilley Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Looking through this guys tweets this is what he said at 13.30 yesterday then claimed he knew all along https://twitter.com/afcamden/status/738711426919960576 Dean said in May Arsenal were in talks with a striker, which wasn't Morata as people thought. Believe me when I say, Dean knows his stuff.

So if there was a release clause why didn't West Ham bid '£20 million'? can only presume that that West Ham bid was up to £24m? So it was filled with clauses etc and not just a straight bid of £20m which would have to be accepted? Whereas Arsenal (may) have bid £20m?
VLC86 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Lay off the Highfields. It ain't that bad. Highfields is lovely, best selection of crack in the county.
Fox92 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 One person who probably has no idea, writes something on twitter and suddenly it's all happening!? I highly doubt Arsenal have even bid. This close to a major tournament starting!?
Lesteban Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'm not as heartbroken by this as I thought I would be. I think the worst thing about it is that if he goes there's no way Mahrez and Kante stay. Ultimately though the thing that the club needed to do after winning the league was establish ourselves in the second tier of the premier league, in the long haul that's the best thing we can hope for, to compete with the likes of Everton for the top seven. We don't need Jamie Vardy to do that. We need sensible management and a good recruitment policy. If we develop top players, the top clubs will take them, if this continues to happen for years to come it means the owners are delivering sustained success and this is going to be one of the prices. I agree it makes Mahrez and Kante more likely to depart. However, if we made a real statement (i.e £20-30m on a top young striker to replace him) they could still be pursuaded to stay. But they will want to see ambition.

sphericalfox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 yep, and all due respect to Arsenal, they certainly wont play to his strengths, and paying that amount for a player who has had 1 good season in the prem & at 29 is risky business imo, could be the straw that breaks Wengers back at Arsenal if it all goes tits up If he goes. I suspect Ranieri will be sueing Arsene for tactic plagiarism next season. Arsenal are going to need a plan b, and changing to a formation that suits Vardy seems likely, whether that be in the first team or off the bench. They like all the 'big teams' suffered from inconsistency and injury, seems to me that with new managers coming coming in, and 'big team' rebuilds that Arsene is having to rethink the Asrenal-way to a degree.
Koke Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If a big company offered me a good position with more money, i'd probably take it. Why on earth people think footballers are any different. it's just business/work/money nothing more. We all want to earn big bucks and we work for the people who pay it. Why would you work for someone who doesn't value you/willing to pay you as much? Vardy will leave and good on him, unless Leicester make a better offer. FACT. I'm a Leicester City fan and if I was on £80k at my boyhood club at aged 29 and Arsenal offered me £140k I'd be packing my bags immediately. And Vardy doesn't support this club so he would care less than I do.
Strokes Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This is modern football I'm afraid, we won't ever be able to compete with the big bucks of Arsenal etc off the field, and nor should we try. We have proved this season that just buying readymade talent is not always effective, there is plenty of talent out there that could step into vardy so shoes and we have a decent scouting team that will hopefully find them. I'm not so sure this a great move for Vardy, from a footballing perspective but he may feel the team here has peaked and in all honesty he is most likely right. We have a team that is full of mostly players in or around their prime, we now need to build the next generation.
theessexfox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Wow a couple of journos reckon Arsenal are talking to Vardy and suddenly we're turning on the talisman to our first ever title win? Get a grip, he's far from gone yet and if he does go, nothing should change the absolute hero status he has in our eyes. Do you realise how big this season was?
st albans fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Arsenal actually haven't made a bid(as of yet). 'Sky sources' say they would be interested in speaking to Leicester about his services? Who wouldn't be interested in his services? Come on.. We laughed off the West Ham 'bid' the other week which was in the region of £24 million. So if there was a release clause why didn't West Ham bid '£20 million'?Because the clause was only for CL qualifiers.Just shows how impotent a club is when a release clause exists. expect the same with NG after the euros. I believe we can hold out for a fee with Riyad so we can at least get a wedge if he decides to go aswell. We were here before this crazy season and we will be here long afterwards - players come and go. 'The King is dead - long live the King' . A shame we won't see this team competing with europe's best. That is my main source of sadness. and as far as 'Pablo' is concerned - he isn't going to publically divulge stuff he knows he shouldn't. once the story has been broken by a journo it's open season and he can let everyone know what he does. I believe from experience that he does have decent inside info from the Emirates.
Babylon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Dean said in May Arsenal were in talks with a striker, which wasn't Morata as people thought. Believe me when I say, Dean knows his stuff. No offence, but that's hardly ground breaking news is it. Everyone on the planet knew they were after a striker. Zero reason for him to say nothing about Vardy at 2pm yesterday... Then suddenly have every detail 3 hours later after someone else breaks the exclusive. It's the typical ITK bulkshit.
NeilLCFC Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he goes like this, gonna get booed Brian little style when we play Arsenal next year and rightly so the little Chavy runt. You are a fool. He hasn't gone yet, how do you know he won't tell Arsenal he isn't interested?
Phube Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I said in the 'transfers you would like' thread that we should go for Giroud, thinking him and Vardy could be awesome together... But not like this... Not like this! Also if he does move to Arsenal, does he get to play up front for England as first choice; playing for a 'big club'?
Lesteban Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Because the clause was only for CL qualifiers. Just shows how impotent a club is when a release clause exists. expect the same with NG after the euros. I believe we can hold out for a fee with Riyad so we can at least get a wedge if he decides to go aswell. We aren't impotent, release clauses have been totally ignored in the past with no repercussions aside from pissed off players (see John Henry taking about Suarez to Arsenal). https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/mar/02/liverpool-john-henry-luis-suarez-clause
