ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 https://twitter.com/bertlcfc/status/739026531083784192 That sounds bad Maybe we'll sound Jimmy Kebe to replace him though...
EGBFitness Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If Vardy goes I wonder how much we will step up our actions on Lampadula (however spelt) I'm sure the club have got a plan in place for it - younger player? Less wages? Less transfer fee? I know he may not settle/adapt to premier league etc which could be a worry but if he comes in and does the same job as Vardy I'm sure everyone will be saying what a smart move club made?
jonthefox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he does go , who (realistically) can we get in part ex ?.
ALC Fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Someone was always going to activate his clause. The whole thing rests on a single decision now. He either doubles his money at Arsenal or doubles his money with us, he will be delighted. Our board needs to decide his value, and if it's sustainable to offer him over £100k for 4 years. If it isn't he should go. The long term sustainability of the club is far bigger than one player, regardless of who it is. If we need to buy a new striker, leading the line in the Champions league will be a HUGE pull for Europes up and coming best young strikers. We can take advantage of our success. Breel Embolo? I know Spurs are after him but surely he'd be the main man here if Vardy goes? He'll have a tough time dislodging Harry 'he's one of their own' Kane at White Hart Lane.
Hitesh Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Will lose a lot of love for the game if this happens. Only a few weeks ago he said he wasn't going anywhere! Seemed more passionate about staying than anyone else, some things not quite right and hope he regrets it if he does leave.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 What the **** have I woke up 2? Hangover from hell and this shit does not please me.
whoareyaaa Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth does all this. Agree, the pwners need to get there wallet out, our whole game revolves around the man.
Stevosevic Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'm seeing tweets saying Ranieri has confirmed he's in talks with Arsenal.
Bryn Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'm not as heartbroken by this as I thought I would be. I think the worst thing about it is that if he goes there's no way Mahrez and Kante stay. Ultimately though the thing that the club needed to do after winning the league was establish ourselves in the second tier of the premier league, in the long haul that's the best thing we can hope for, to compete with the likes of Everton for the top seven. We don't need Jamie Vardy to do that. We need sensible management and a good recruitment policy. If we develop top players, the top clubs will take them, if this continues to happen for years to come it means the owners are delivering sustained success and this is going to be one of the prices.
EnglishOxide Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Leicester to Arsenal isn't a backwards step, let's not be silly. It is at this moment in time.
Dames Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 He doesn't suit Arsenals style of play and will definitely flop there but to be honest let them spunk 100k+ a week on him rather than us. We don't need to endanger financial security of the club because someone has clearly decided to hold the club to ransom. My only worry is that this may signal a lack of ambition to the other players and they'll seek moves away. We'll always have this season though. Always.
FrankieADZ Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 good luck to him if he goes, he'll bloody need it in all fairness going Arsenal imo
Stan Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth does all this. My thoughts exactly. If he goes to Arsenal, thanks for the memories but I won't be wishing him well.
foxfanazer Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 good luck to him if he goes, he'll bloody need it in all fairness going Arsenal imoHe can kiss goodbye to his hamstrings thats for sure. I'm sure he'll stay
Babylon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 https://twitter.com/afcamden/status/739023067435945984Is there a particular reason people hang on every word of this person. He had posted NOTHING about the transfer until it broke elsewhere, then he suddenly has every detail.
Lesteban Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 He doesn't suit Arsenals style of play and will definitely flop there but to be honest let them spunk 100k+ a week on him rather than us. My only worry is that this may signal a lack of ambition to the other players and they'll seek moves away. We'll always have this season though. Always. Arsenal were once great on the counter under Wenger, I'd fancy Vardy being fed by Ozil. It's win-win for Arsenal, worst case he is injured on a huge wage and barely plays for them, they will still see themselves as destabilising a rival for £20m.
Christoph Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 So is this actually happening? 0_0 after all that talk of staying. I assumed fron marez and kane but always had vardy as someone who would stick with the club for longer.
sphericalfox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Will lose a lot of love for the game if this happens. Only a few weeks ago he said he wasn't going anywhere! Seemed more passionate about staying than anyone else, some things not quite right and hope he regrets it if he does leave. How many players have said the exact same thing, prior to moving on in the weeks following. We've acquired a couple of players ourselves under this premise. I think it would be a shame to lose Vardy, but I'll hold no ill will. What he has achieved under the LCFC badge is astronomical in terms of achievement, that can't be taken away. If at his age he feels that he wants to take advantage of his stock before it diminishes then so be it. It's up to the club staff to find a suitable replacement that fits our mould and complements the ethos that we have. Ranieri put it very simple. You want to play elsewhere...off you go. We'll find someone who does.
Koke Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Someone was always going to activate his clause. The whole thing rests on a single decision now. FoxyPalace.com Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This will be a bad move for him I think. But if he wants out let him go. Slimani in for me.
simFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If a big company offered me a good position with more money, i'd probably take it. Why on earth people think footballers are any different. it's just business/work/money nothing more. We all want to earn big bucks and we work for the people who pay it. Why would you work for someone who doesn't value you/willing to pay you as much? Vardy will leave and good on him, unless Leicester make a better offer. FACT.
FrankieADZ Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 He can kiss goodbye to his hamstrings thats for sure. I'm sure he'll stay yep, and all due respect to Arsenal, they certainly wont play to his strengths, and paying that amount for a player who has had 1 good season in the prem & at 29 is risky business imo, could be the straw that breaks Wengers back at Arsenal if it all goes tits up
Lesteban Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Breel Embolo? I know Spurs are after him but surely he'd be the main man here if Vardy goes? He'll have a tough time dislodging Harry 'he's one of their own' Kane at White Hart Lane. There are so many options with better long term prospects than Vardy, and a better all-round game. Off the top of my head Milik, Embolo, Lacazette maybe even Morata could be attracted, but not so sure about the latter given his potential suitors. I'd personally go for Lacazette and Milik.
