Foxxed Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Hatimb. That's an amazing post. When someone posts something you disagree with, or wish to talk about, you reply. But when you read something so crazy, you cannot help but appreciate it for what it is: a work of art. I'm still marvelling at the phrase "fake tan simpson wannabees". Amazing.

He's turned this group of players around given where Martinez left them and that's without adding massively. He'll end up going back to Barcelona but his record so far in England is impressive. I don't think Everton are that good but today they are playing one of the best sides in the division. Umm hasn't he spent loads on Williams, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Bolasie, Valencia and Lookman? Southampton were doing fine before he came and are doing fine now. He's taken Everton exactly where you'd expect them to be. No more, no less.

He guided Southampton to their highest "Premier League" finish ever - even with the continued exit of their best players. They are now mid table. Everton are were they'd expect to be, yes, but haven't been for the past two seasons. He's improved them given they finished mid table last season. His record in England is very very good. And I don't think I've ever heard anybody call Koeman a better manager than what he is so I don't know what you're trying to argue.

You suggested he has taken Everton up a step without adding much to the squad, but there has been substantial investment in the squad. For me, a 'very, very good' manager achieves more than what is expected of his squad and wins the odd trophy. At Southampton Pochettino finished 8th, Koeman 7th and 6th and they're currently 10th under Puel. More or less the same before and after Koemans tenure. This tells me that the club is well run with a good and skilled recruitment policy first and foremost. Everton being where they are now means Koeman is getting them to perform as expected, and with Steve Walsh in his setup he's got similarly good foundations. To me, the jury is still out on whether he's a good manager.

Wymsey Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Thought Mings' was accidental, as he wasn't looking in the direction of Zlatan's head, a warning should be given at most. Although as Leicester fans it'd good news if he was suspended for this incident, Bournemouth can't afford to lose a key player for them in a team that's struggling. But Zlatan's appeared intentional - the level his elbow was act in mid-air would normally be the position (or thereabouts) of the opposing player's head or upper-body. 3/4 game ban would be sufficient imo, though even 5/6 if the panel think the incident could've proved a danger to Mings' physical wellbeing.

I welcomed this news! Means a relegation rival has been weakened. I think it is a tough decision but as one pundit said, it was his lack of reaction when he knew he had stamped on something... that was most telling. If you stamp and feel yourself land on something.. then you are going to have at least a glance at what it is you landed all your weight on, especially when he knew Zlatan's head was down there. Add to that, the fact that Zlatan had already thrown him to the ground earlier, I think Mings as bad as it sounds.. knew what he was doing and will rightly be punished. At best.. he is extremely careless stamping near someone's head. At worse - he did it on purpose.

I thought Mings' was accidental too but like others said it's the lack of reaction afterwards which is hiss downfall Zlatans is completely intentional, he clenches his fist and swings his arm back whether he's meant to hit him in the head could be up for discussion but he definitely tried to take revenge
RowlattsFox Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 You'd have to be one of the biggest ***** in football to deliberately stamp on someone's head. Not sure Mings is that so I'd give him the benefit of doubt. There is no way he won't get banned though.
StanSP Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Kante interception. Counter attack. Goal. Getting bored of that.
foxes21 Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 This West Ham attack has no pace. Should allow us to play our high pressing game without worrying too much about exposing Morgan/Huth to the counter.

Hammo Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 45 minutes of pure class from Kante. There is just no other player like him.
STUHILL Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 I know it is frowned upon to mention 'the man who shall not be named'... BUT... I do miss that little dude. So good at everything he does! What a player he is. Chuffed we had him here, even if just for 1 season. Fully deserving of more awards at the end of the season
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Blimey if Kante keeps playing like this they'll give him enough money to buy a new Mini ... may be a Judas but you still kind of love him and want him to do well.
the fox Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 The counter attack is really hurting them. Same with the man city game, they misplaced a pass, they get countered and then they let a goal past them.
Koke Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Kante us world class. He never goes to ground. He's far more intelligent than your average DM/CM.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Good result so far. anything to see spuds miss out again
Izzy Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 As much as last season was probably the most memorable in PL history, this season could be the most boring and one sided for ages. If Chelski continue like this, they could win it with ease. They're by far and away the best team in the league and already look like champions elect to me. And great to watch...
Tuna Posted 6 March 2017 Posted 6 March 2017 Sloppy defending from West Ham, reminiscent of some of our defending from December.
