shocking for the north east having Boro and Sunderland relegated but at least Newcastle are coming back up as Championship Champions

I honestly think Boro have been the worst premier league side in recent memory (excluding Derby)

I often look at relegated sides and think 'at least they gave it a go' and I'd even put Sunderland in that category, they've attacked at times they just can't defend lol

Boro have been painfully boring, had little or no tactical ideas and have wasted an experienced target man by having no one to play off him! Madness.

Pleased to see them go down and I've never really said that about a team.

He might be the nicest chairman but he needs to grow a set and start being more ruthless with managers!

I think they are for more likely to get promotion than Sunderland or Hull (if they go) next season.

Sunderland and Hull will have a season of transition IMO as they'll lose their best players and probably won't replace them with similar quality. Hull will also lose their manager and neither club will throw big money about.

Boro probably have the best squad out the three and better run financially. They'll probably lose Gibson but will have the finances to compete with anyone at Championship level. I was very impressed with them in our 2-2 game and I think the reason they've gone down so tamely is because Karanka was far too defensive and Agnew is out of his depth. They would do brilliantly if they could get the Hull manager to jump ship when his contract ends in the summer providing a bigger club don't target him.

Funnily enough the dog muck Aston Villa of last season and the abysmal Middlesborough of this season gave us a bit of bother over the 4 fixtures and resulted in only 1 win! Hahaha

Our record against the relegated sides this season assuming Hull go down is a woeful W2 D2 L2.

The only comparable football success wastelands are Yorkshire and the East Midlands, notwithstanding us last year, both have been shorn of former contenders.

They're discussing Zlatans wages on Talksport right now.

Apparently he's on £367,660 per WEEK

Considering they'd be below us... potentially even still fighting for safety without his goals he's probably worth it lollol (hypothetical before anyone jumps on me!)

What a beautiful win though,,,, Nathan Dyer's self sacrifice deservedly earned him a PL medal...:)

He's apparently refusing to be paid whilst he's been injured.

Actually I'd rather they didn't get punished - if they weren't allowed to sign anyone they'd just trust in the wealth of talent in the academy like Fergie did for so long rather than pissing half a billion quid away on shite since he retired...

Fair play to Zlatan if that's the case.

But the cynic in me wonders if he made that decision after it became public knowledge about the obscene wages he's on?

Never say fair play to Zlatan.  Firstly, its an empty gesture, he's rich as ****

Secondly, why not take the money and give it to charity (a friend posed this to me) - because he'd prefer to make an egotistical public statement

And yeah, thirdly, good point, because those wages are obscene even by modern footballing standards

TBF his wages are probably so high because he came on a free.

He can literally do anything he wants with his own money. This is such a typically weird attitude some football fans have, because somebody pays him a silly amount of money he should donate some of it to charity. Very very odd jealous behaviour.

If I earned that much I'd give at least half my earnings to charity each week.

Yeah but you're not thinking it through. If you did that, when you'd retire, you'd only have about £70m to last the rest of your life. Imagine only being able to buy one P1?

Not as odd as praising a multi millionaire for giving up a tiny fraction of his wealth

It's just a gesture. Pretty sure nobody is going over the top.

His money, his choice! He can do whatever he wants with HIS money, HIS income, HIS life.

People think its easy to give millions of your hard earned money away (even for charity)

He ain't giving half his salary, and I would do the same if I was rich. He ain't giving £5.720.000 pounds a year. Knock it off!

Some people just need a reason to be salty about. A £220k a year would allow most people to live like kings, but there is levels to this madness. a holiday for you is a trip to France, his holiday is a rented island for a month.

He earned his money and he can do whatever he wants with it,
