Tuna Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 Makes claims but nothing proven yet ...so like Indy Kalia them?
MPH Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 So by signing all foreign players so far the club is obviously not aiming to keep the core of the squad British is it ? Just goes to show what happens when someone spouts rubbish like this . He's going to be expensive but I read somewhere that the club is aiming to keep a british core to the squad so he looks like a good signing. Read somewhere ? We have Simpson, drinky, Morgan ( yes he plays for jamaica but we all know he's british), vardy and then maybe keane.. . Plus of course there is albrighton, Grey, and Andy king so yes, that is absolutely maintaining a core of British players and signing Keane will help to maintain that...

It shows absolutely nothing of the sort, you don't know what the other incomings will be, what the outgoings will be, what sort of break point they have in terms of the "british"* / foreign mix. There is also the cost consideration, it might very well be something they want to do (I believe it's something they look at), but financially it's very difficult to do so when people are asking £30m+ for Troy Deeney. You only have to have listened to Pearson and Walsh in previous years, or read the old scouting articles to know the sort of things they take into account in terms of recruitment. They take the spirit very seriously, we have the best around and that's in no small part to the makeup of the squad. They aren't going to chuck in the bin their style of recruitment and squad building without good reason. *By British I would state that's a general term for people with knowledge of our leagues. The likes of Kasper, Huth, De Laet and new signing Zieler amongst others are all "foreign", but have been in our system. Know the country, speak the language etc
SecretPro Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 If we pay £15m for Keane then that should mean we'll get around £40m for Ulloa?

I brought it here when Leicester chose CR last year and posted inler is being allowed to leave last month. I don't know it all but when I find things out I'll let you know. As I stated on June 24th Kante will be staying at least another year and the Keane deal will be finalised next week as I stated earlier. Hope this helps
st albans fox Posted 14 July 2016 Posted 14 July 2016 As I stated on June 24th Kante will be staying at least another year Hope this helps So Claudio is just playing the press and when NG plumps for us over Chelsea it's another public kick in the teeth for the 'London big boys'? I suspect his agent is doing a great job like vardy's did. Only issue is if the club think he intends staying, they may not be as generous with the offer as he wants. I hope we don't lose him over some 'grandstanding' by the club when a few grand would seal his signature on a new contract.

They have already brought in four players none of which are british . As you quite rightly pointed out they do sign players with the right attitude and ones that will fit into our culture , but it has nothing to do with their nationality . If they sign Kean it's because he fits the bill and nothing else . So if you are suggesting the club likes to sign " British " players because they have a better attitude then we get into the realms of dare i say racism ?

Not sure of the ruling but there is a minimum required in the squad. Clearly we have no problem now but if we are planning for the future at a high level, recruiting young British players of a very decent standard is going to be Important.
lancyclaret Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 £15 million + add-ons. I think Leicester are paying us a "decent" price considering we paid £1.5 million + add-ons for him 18 months ago. It will be interesting to see if he makes the starting line-up against us this season or is on the bench.

It will be interesting to see if he makes the starting line-up against us this season or is on the bench. He's definitely one for the future. If he thinks he's got any chance of breaking up the Huth-Morgan pairing he's deluded no matter how much he costs. I can see us doing a lot of work with him in the gym over the nezt 12-18 months to develop his upper body strength and giving him the chance to prove himself in the domestic cups, by which point I suspect one of Huth or Morgan will start winding down their careers.
