There is a strong bond between that back five and Danny is part of it. Whenever an attacker on the left wing is running at him, I never get too concerned in all honestly. He's got that solidity about him. For me, he's as key as any of the starting XI staying.

Richmondfox Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 No chance Simpson would force/want to move to a club at the bottom end of the league when he has the chance to play in the CL and carry on playing for the PL champions. Im not sure who we can upgrade Simpson with, maybe a solid Italian RB who like Simpson, does one job that is required really well. The club wouldn't sell for 4m as we'd have to replace and get another back up.

Captain... Posted 12 July 2016 Posted 12 July 2016 No chance, we need to keep hold of our home grown players, we are getting very multi-national at the moment with our signings. I know we are not as bad as Arsenal/Chelsea/Man City but we could very easily field a team of non English players, we are fortunate that Schmeichel, Huth and Schlupp are home grown.

He was linked a while back and Barcelona said he's not available and Vidal said he didn't want to leave. Dani Alves has gone to Juve so I can't see Barcelona losing 2 right backs

He does have an 'out of football fight' in him which could cause the manager to want him out, HOWEVER seen pictures on twitter and he looks very happy in Austria pre season training at the minute. Owners said they don't want to sell our top players and yes he does not bag 25 goals a season but in my eyes is still a top player

I dislike Simpson because of the whole he strangled the mother of his child thing. Also I just don't think he is any good. RDL is better imo. Yeah, he is caught out of position and makes mistakes, but Simpson makes a lot of mistakes too.

There is absolutely no way RDL is better than Simpson as a defender or as part of of the system we play. By actually covering and defending where he should be Simpson not only gave Mahrez more freedom but helped Huth and Morgan have the seasons of their lives. The back 4 was a huge part of why we won the league and with RDL/Schlupp in there at the start of the season we were shipping goals because neither can defend properly. I appreciate the point on him being a twat for throttling his Mrs but on the pitch he was superb and is worth way more than £4m.
