He also doesn't have to realistically work within tight budgets and can try and bring top talent with no restraints on a transfer budget. So like others are saying it must be one of 2 reasons to go, closer to family or changes Raneri made, has put his influence regarding transfers indown a peg or 2. it will be a shame if he goes as he and his team of scouts really have an eye for players and won't necessarily stray from core values which we have seen in players we have signed. For me, I hope he stays and continues his good work, we're miles away from the Sven style signings an I wouldn't want that to resurface and undo all the hard work Walsh and his team have done It's a different job role.
CKB Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 If it's personal reasons then like I said before you can't deny the bloke. Now if it's other reasons then that's a worry
suffolk fox Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Can't understand why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist over this? If he wants to go let him. As Claudio has said if a player or anyone wants to go let them. What's the point of trying to keep someone at the club if he wants out. Most, on here had the same reaction when Pearson left, doom and gloom. Well, how did that work out. As Kasper Schmeichel said on EMT tonight, don't believe everything you read in the press. Two days ago he was going to Everton too.
StanSP Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 just realised, as Champions, we can probably get someone as good as, if not better, than Walsh anyway. Someone who fits in with the philosophies and mechanics of the scouting system as it is. Ranieri, with all his years of managing, must know some people!
PaulW Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Losing one key member of the team is unfortunate. Losing two is bloody careless.
Swarles Barkley Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 So who is ramadone and why is he reliable? (this is a serious question not meant to be questioning him/her)

How very optimistic, it's not like Steve Walsh has be named as one of the best scouts in the game and is know for unearthing hidden talent including prior to Leicester. ..... that said, we should go for Tim Vickery escpicially with the Eu rule changing on signing young Brazilians In the next 2 years

Guest Manini Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Seriously what the **** is going on? We're champions of England and they're queuing up out of the door. It's so Leicester it hurts.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Big loss this one, but I can understand why Walsh would be very interested in the role on offer at Everton, it certainly is a big promotion
Tuna Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Scouting is not the responsibility of any one man. Walsh is rightly praised for Kante, Mahrez, Vardy but for every one of these there is also a Futacs, Kramaric, Robbie Nielson. If we really wanted to keep him, we'd have offered him the DOF role here and not kept the yes man on.

GaelicFox Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Maybe Walsh was the man advising on buy out clauses jumping before the fire starts to roar
st albans fox Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 I know he was unhappy about something that went on (nothing major - will say once club has confirmed his departure) but his working relationship with Claudio etc is good and I think the reason for him leaving is the size of the offer from Everton. He won't be a wealthy man and a big salary will be very tempting.

Bluetintedspecs Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 And if he goes ,can people please tell me what good having a meltdown on this forum achieves? Do people think that we as a club are so fragile that the loss of NK and possibly SW will be the end of us? Disappointing and a blow yes , it's what we do about it is more important and vital than having a mad panic/ hissy fit. The club will find suitable replacements and continue to thrive I'm sure.

CIty could give him same role but maybe not same cash he will never win the league with Everton and probably never see them in champions league so why go ? all these rats obviously think we are headed for a deep fall
