SheppyFox Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 He's got a new contract and we've told Everton to bugger off, unless staff have compensation termination clauses or something??

AKCJ Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Yo what the **** is happening? Has Walsh actually gone to Everton?
Babylon Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 What does it say to the players if he goes, can't keep your best player or your best staff when you're at the very top. Players who might not have moved, they could now think quite differently. The domino effect could be devastating to the club, that's my worry. This article about Kante going sums it up in the last line. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mid-table-chelsea-netting-ngolo-8444310 "They have to be smarter than this". Outside looking in there seems to be some serious failings.
Poznan34 Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Surely we could have demoted Rudkin and given Walsh DoF? Unless the owners rate Rudkin over Walsh?!
lgfualol Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Vardy hasnt even signed a new deal. Maybe he is waiting to see who goes and who comes in before his agent touts him about.

We're Champions of England, against all odds, and other clubs are identifying our strong points and throwing cash at trousering our assets for themselves! Walsh, for all his scouting 'nous', is hardly likely to turn Everton into England's best inside 1,2 or even 3 years. Likewise, NK despite his obvious influence,is going to be hard pressed to rejuvenate Chelsea on his own. I don't think it's 'personal'....other teams aren't trying to deliberately undermine us, they're just taking a punt at trying to improve their own circumstances. In one way, I believe we've made a rod for our own back.......'Traditional' teams like Everton have seen us achieve what they've failed to do for year upon year. We've made them believe that they 'can'......hence the relentless interest in what they believe to be our 'keys' to success! Right so what exactly did he do with us then?

baldeagle Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Make no mistake Walsh leaving is a massive blow but on a positive note Claidio has had success at other clubs without him .
Benji Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 I applaud people trying to pretend Kante and Walsh are small clogs in a big machine that we can just move on from but there's no denying this is another massive blow. We really need to make a statement of intent and we issue a public statement of **** off to anyone poaching players or staff. I can't help but think we need the likes of Fuchs and Vardy back in training as they seem key to team spirit (don't think they're back yet - could be wrong?).
foxes_rule1978 Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 It is frustrating when your assets are cherry picked, but we need to ensure we do smart business and replace where needed. We knew that there would be huge interest in our club this summer and even from the very elite clubs. This is the best position the club has been in, we have champions league football and we have money to attract replacements. Last season when we lost Pearson and Cambiasso most thought we were heading for the drop, but we got in the right players and manager and stormed the league to make for the greatest season in the clubs history!
stevelcfc Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Fuchs was back today, I believe Vardy is off and will be for a while yet as he recovers from his Op.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 This is something. There's a problem somewhere. its 12 months of the most exciting period of this clubs history and everybody wants to go? No, don't buy it. Something or someone in this club is damaging it. Ranieri's signings last year were Benny and Inler right? I feel demoralised. It it will be interesting to see how Ranieri copes next year.
amurray9 Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Okay so this news really got me down because we've had a bad weekend. I tried to put myself in Steve Walsh's shoes. Honestly, this is not for the money at all. This is for opportunity. Steve Walsh seems to thrive on finding gems that succeed. What more could he do at Leicester? He is leaving because he knows that we are going to be okay without him, because under him and everyone's watch, we won the bloody premier league!!!! If the new Everton owner has offered him the chance to replicate his success elsewhere and put his stamp on the league as a scouting legend, he is going to take it. It's not money, it's reputation. Steve Walsh has the chance to put his name in the record books at Everton and really make an impact. He doesn't owe us anything BECAUSE he has already set us up for success. Our system will be okay without him. Idk, maybe i'm talking crazy

We will have a decent season at the very least. Claudio knows what he is doing, as long as we play with his solid tactics we will be a very tough nut to crack, have faith in him because there is no way we will finish lower then 8th or 9th. We will sign worthy replacements for both Kante and Walsh, I'm confident.

Day later it was all done, maybe we're leaking info about the approach being rejected to make it look yet again like we did everything we could to keep him Not itk 1 but but it seems like this is our standard procedure now... Dreading sky next saying the Mahrez transfer is bs
Edingleyfox Posted 18 July 2016 Posted 18 July 2016 Very disappointed if true as the ink has barely dried on the last contract Walsh is a top scout and we still need to strengthen before the start of the season. Need to show the robustness that will fend off other parties looking at our other stars and stop the domino whilst attracting players in. The silence from the club adds to the uncertainty - need some positive news and massages asap

True, if we believe what we've been fed, then SW 'discovered' or suggested the bulk of last season's squad: Fuchs, Kante, Albrighton, Mahrez, Simpson, Vardy, Okazaki.....but Morgan and Huth were down to NP, Schmeichel was already here, (as was King)..DD was a NP suggestion after 'that' performance at the KP... Ulloa was scouted, and eventually signed, purely because he 'ripped us a new one' in the promotion season ..... A great head of recruitment ???? Absolutely !! Irreplaceable?? Nope ! Great post. Also Mahrez was a mistake. They went to watch another player and stumbled across him.

Someone who fits in with the philosophies and mechanics of the scouting system as it is. Ranieri, with all his years of managing, must know some people! The position we are in who could possibly be better than Walsh? He identified the 3 best players in the premier league last season, they cost us 7million combined. Unless we we are willing to pay £25million and £120k a week, if we can't even keep Steve Walsh due to money I doubt we'd be spending the above on players.
