Soar Fox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Schmeichel Simpson Wasilewski Morgan Fuchs Mahrez King Drinkwater Gray Okazaki Vardy Subs: Zieler, Mendy, Schlupp, Musa, Ulloa, Hernandez, Amartey.
oxtonfox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Think this may be our easiest game of the season because I see Hull being relegation favourites. That will not mean it's easy of course because we are Leicester! I see it being tight at first with us once again starting slowly and them getting a head of steam up. If we can keep them out for first 30 mins then that will be good. In the end I expect our class to see us through so I go for 2-0 both in the second half and Vardy with one. Team... I think Claudio will stick initially with the team that won the league where he can. I expect he will use this as the default starting line up for the first 2 or 3 games before a dose of reality kicks in. So 4-4-2: Hernandez for Huth and maybe Mahrez and Vardy up front initially with King-Drinky-Amartey and Albrighton in midfield. Subs will be Musa, Okazaki, Gray, barring any injuries...
Devonfox1884 Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Kasper Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Mendy Drinky Schlupp Okazaki Vardy
tsintskaro Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Albrighton and Okazaki will be in starting XI,you wil see No King for sure Yes,i know there is no "weak" club and you should respect your opponent but this is great chance for leicester to begin PL with scoring 3-4 goals and receive none.Hull is in worst possible situation right now I hope Ranieri will not play 1-0 game
RowlattsFox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Kasper Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Mendy Gray okazaki vardy subs: zieler amartey chilwell albrighton kapustka Musa Ulloa i think we can afford to risk gray and mahrez against hull.

That's exactly what I would pick.
ealingfox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Simpson needs binning. Kanté made him look far better than he is last year by protecting the area in front of the corner of the box. That said we won't be able to get a better RB in in time so will give him the nod for this game. Also want Zieler to get the nod as Kasper was poor yesterday. Now he's got his big-money deal he could use a wake-up call so there's no slacking. People are going overboard a bit with the Gray hype but I agree he deserves a start. Can probably get away with the 442 for this game but I maintain after yesterday that we can't get away with it any more against better sides. Would like to see Amartey given the first crack at the holding role if we switch to a 3. Zieler Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater King Gray Okazaki Vardy
sm1 Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Can see us playing the same team that started the first half against United. Personally i'd go for 433 Kasper Simpson, Was, Morgan, Fuchs Amartey, Drinky, Mendy Mahrez, Vardy, Gray
Ted Maul Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Having to go to a wedding instead of this, I don't see what would possess someone to organise that on the first day of the football season. I will be watching on Sky Go in the church, sorry Jesus.
Balgair Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 If Phelan is still in charge Sat Hull could be tough. Phelan had a pretty decent boss to emulate at United.
adam Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Hull only have 13 fit players madness. Mike ****ing Dean is the ref

I agree, they will have that continuity and a bit of stability if they keep him. I'm hoping their owners make some sort of ridiculous left-field appointment over the next couple of days to really balls up their preparations.
leicesterseddon Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 I think CR will start with Okazaki and Vardy up front. Still not convinced about Okazaki to be honest - but I feel a bit happier now we have Musa in the squad as well. Personally I think Gray (and possibly Schlupp) will feature much more this year - but for the game this Saturday, I can just about see him sticking with Albrighton. Defence is the real worry - Hernandez is probably the best partner for Morgan. Wasilewski is too inconsistent/risky. I'm not too sure about the centre of midfield - Mendy/Drinkwater is probably the best combination on paper, but I wouldn't mind seeing Amartey at all. He was a bit unlucky last year because he never really got a proper run in the side, but you can see he has potential. The key will be giving the midfield a bit of bite to cope with the loss of Kante...
NewEnglandFox Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 People need to work on their argument for dropping Albrighton, it really shows their complacency and tolerance towards another winger who isn't putting his own shift in. Albrighton's trying even though his end product isn't there. Want to know who isn't defending? Mahrez? Want to know who's moves aren't working? Mahrez? Want to know who is visably upset with his game? Mopey Mahrez.

Also I think it's been mentioned (by Claudio?) that he drops form if he doesn't play every week. Not that he is in form currently, but gaining confidence from scoring/winning is the only way to restore his form.

Dont get get me wrong I like Albrighton and would play him or gray on Saturday but you can't compare Albrighton to Mahrez imo
UPinCarolina Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 For the sake of continued argument, here's a proposed lineup from Joe Prince-Wright, NBC Sports/Pro Soccer Talk lead writer. Leicester City —– Schmeichel —– — Simpson — Morgan — Huth — Fuchs — Mahrez — Mendy — Drinkwater — Albrighton — Vardy — Musa —http://soccer.nbcsports.com/2016/08/08/strongest-possible-xis-for-all-20-premier-league-teams/
Balgair Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 I think we can get a good result if we aren't complacent or disinterested...

tsintskaro Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 As already was said two attack-minded wingers who are too lazy to work in defence is bit dangerous while there is problem(?) chosing right central midfielder. Albrighton has no technical skills and is no game changer, but his work rate is definitely needed.Claudio is not a man who will replace him after one bad game I think Gray will come after 60 minutes, despite club would be winning by that time or not And What about Vardy/Musa - yes the idea is hunting, imagine these to pace whores together, but in starting XI i doubt there would be both
Dusty Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Dropping Huth for Hernandez is ridiculous, Hernandez is not strong enough to be a CB, if he plays he should be a RB. Those calling for mahrez and Morgan to be dropped are deluded too, it's preseason, get over it.

We can't be afraid to drop our out of form players. Mahrez has been exposed for trying to take on as many defenders as are put in front of him. I've been saying this for at least 6 months. Now we're at three lackluster games in a row and in each game his opponents were waiting to exploit his signature move. Hull are Hull but they aren't stupid. Mahrez failed to adapt this game, relying on what wasn't working to work again. How many times should we allow this to continue? Gray has a box of tricks as well and has showed a more diversified skillset to beat defenders.

With Was not included against Man Utd then presumably it will be Morgan and Hernandez as our CB's. Absolutely agree with the rest of your post.
Great Boos Up Posted 8 August 2016 Posted 8 August 2016 Do we really need to start our best line up against Dull. It could be a long ol' season and last year we were blessed virtually injury free. Cards may be a bigger issue this season and we don't want to be left short handed in a much more difficult game.
